PARKWAY DINNER, TUE, NOV. 13, 6PM The Rev. John and Gwenyth Haspels have been
serving as mission coworkers since 1974, first in Ethiopia, then in Sudan, and now again in
Ethiopia. Both are children of missionaries and were raised in Africa. They have witnessed the
dynamic growth of the African church amid adversity. They have seen a hundred people
baptized at a time and churches so vital and crowded that they have expanded to four services on
Sunday only to have worshippers stay for all four services. John writes, "It is the truth which has
brought us here and enables us to keep going. It is the truth which keeps all the hunger, violence,
hatred, and pain in perspective. If Jesus had not risen, then indeed there would be little hope for
the starving." You are invited to dinner and to hear John and Gwen share of their experiences on
the mission field, Tuesday, November 13, 6pm. Please RSVP by Thursday, November 8.
