Patient assignments
Junior students are generally limited to 15 active patient cases (excluding pediatric patients,
immediate family and dental students).
Senior students are generally limited to 20 active patient cases (excluding pediatric patients,
immediate family and dental students).
From May to January of the Junior year, patient assignments are made based on number of total
patients per student. The Assignments Office will make every effort to assign an equal number
of patients to each student during this time.
Beginning with the second semester Junior year, all requests for patient assignments must be
made using a Patient Request Form.

Clinical Review Board
The Clinic Review Board (CRB) is designed to assist and monitor students in their progress through the clini
administrators representing all clinical disciplines, the CRB evaluates the juniors three times and twice for seniors in
academic calendar. One purpose of the CRB is to provide early warning of deficiencies directly to students. If defic

Junior and Senior dental students must complete an active or passive
orthodontic appliance in order to receive credit. Due to the length of time needed
to complete a case, there are no target CRB points for this department. By
December of their senior year, however, students must start their orthodontic
cases in order to satisfy the department requirements.
