Patient assignments

Junior students are generally limited to 15 active patient cases (excluding pediatric patients,

immediate family and dental students).

Senior students are generally limited to 20 active patient cases (excluding pediatric patients,

immediate family and dental students).

From May to January of the Junior year, patient assignments are made based on number of total

patients per student. The Assignments Office will make every effort to assign an equal number

of patients to each student during this time.

Beginning with the second semester Junior year, all requests for patient assignments must be

made using a Patient Request Form.

Junior and Senior dental students must complete an active or passive

orthodontic appliance in order to receive credit. Due to the length of time needed

to complete a case, there are no target CRB points for this department. By

December of their senior year, however, students must start their orthodontic
