    Play “Musical Paper Plates.” Write a consonant blend on several paper plates
      (enough for each child), and place them in a circle. Play music as children
      walk in a circle around the plates. When the music stops, children must stop
      in front of a plate. TTW call out a sound (blend), and the child standing
      beside that sound must name a word with that sound.
    Beach Ball Toss: TTW write various consonant blends on a beach ball. TSW
      stand in a circle and toss the ball. When a child catches the ball, TSW say
      the sound that is closest to his/her right thumb. Then TSW say a sentence
      with that word. Then, TSW throw the ball to another student.
