NOT factored into your Allegheny course equivalency. Courses will transfer with the number credits as listed below (and/or as
on the University of Minnesota transcript).
Courses with multiple equivalencies indicate cross-listings only; courses cannot be counted twice for graduation requirements.
Internship, case studies and directed research MUST have Allegheny Department approval for transfer PRIOR to departure.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFO: Because of MSID's deadlines, it is strongly recommended that students submit their
approval packets and their MSID applications to the International Office according to the MSID deadlines. That is, by Feb 15 for
fall and AY programs and by June 1 for spring programs.
0TE = will satisfy requirement for either minor or major in department, or distribution requirement
2TE = major/minor elective credit at 200 level
3TE = major/minor elective credit at 300 level
4TE = major/minor elective credit at 400 level

GloS 4801: International Development: Critical Perspectives on Theory and SOCIAL SCIENCE 0TE, Poli Sci 3TE
Practice. Explore a wide variety of perspectives on international 4 cr
development, with Senegal as a case study.
GloS 4802: Cross-Cultural Perspective on Work. Develop intercultural SOCIAL SCIENCE 0TE, Poli Sci 3TE
communication concepts and skills to facilitate your entry into another
culture and interaction with host families, internship agencies, and 4 cr
communities.
GloS 4803: MSID Country Analysis. This multi-disciplinary study of SOCIAL SCIENCE 0TE, Poli Sci 3TE
Senegal emphasizes the social sciences and history, especially as they relate 4 cr
to development issues.
Afro 3110 (Beginning or Wolof): Focus on particular skills while CRT LG 193 WOLOF
emphasizing conversation and vocabulary building. 4 cr

GloS 4807: Applied Field Methods. Apply selected field research methods SOCIAL SCIENCE 0TE, Poli Sci 3TE
and analyze the practical, ethical, and theoretical issues raised through small 4 cr
field assignments and individual research projects.
GloS 4808: MSID Directed Research. In consultation with a local faculty 4 cr Need Allegheny Dept Chair approval prior
member, develop an individualized research project. The research project to departure or start of program
allows you to work in depth on a project that is of particular interest to you.
