CONGRATULATIONS--THS has much to celebrate today. Congratulations to our Wrestlers, Swimmers, BPA Students, Science Bowl

Competitors, and THS Student Council.

o THS Student Council received several awards at the state conference this past weekend. We brought home a Gold, Exemplary, Peoples

Choice, and Loving, Caring, and Sharing Awards. At the conference, Mr. Litke was also presented with the New Mexico Association of

Student Councils (NMASC) Administrator of the Year Award.

o Swim State Participants--Coaches: Bob Donough & Jerry Johnston

o Wrestling State Participants--Coaches: David Stormo, Eddie Jo Abeyta, Robert Valencia & Raymond Valerio

 Dylan Gomez, Virgil Vigil, Matthew Silva, Andrew Maes (2nd- District)

 Lorenzo Gurule, David Silva, Nekai Tsethlikai (3rd-District)

o BPA competed for State and the following students qualified for Nationals. Others placed well, in Open & Individual events:

 Computer Animation Team: Jalen Johnson, Patrick Lewis and Emilio Trujillo--1st place and qualified for Nationals

 Economic Research Project Individual, Elon Bauer took 2nd Place and qualified for Nationals

 Economic Research Project Individual, Catalina Sakai took 3rd Place and qualified for Nationals

 Digital Media Production, Austin Duran took 2nd and qualified for Nationals

 Desktop Publishing, Adam Fernandez took 5th and qualified for Nationals

 Administrative Support Concepts - Open Event - Elon Bauer took 2nd, Catalina Sakai took 6th, Taylor Caldwell took 8th

 Information Technology Concepts - Open Event - Elon Bauer took 2nd, Toby Salazar took 5th

 Management, Marketing and Human Resources - Open Event - Elon Bauer took 2nd, Catalina Sakai took 8th

 Insurance Concepts - Open Event - Adam Fernandez took 8th

 Financial Math and Alalysis - Open Event -Elon Bauer took 2nd, Brooks Stebbins took 5th

 Graphic Design Promotion - Adam Fernandez took 6th

NEW--I am in need of ushers for "Romeo and Juliet".They need to arrive one hour before the show (6pm) and stay a half an hour after the

show (9 or 9:30pm) They will get to see the show for free. This is open to anyone. We need two ushers per show for every show. Please

contact Ms Bouchie if you are interested.

NEW—DRIVEN--Wednesday February 17, 2010--During Lunch in office next to band room. Youth interested in quitting tobacco can see

Julie Trujillo in the office next to the band room.

My office still has a few school supplies left. Students please let your parents know they can come pick them up. Rose Martinez, Director

Just a reminder: The Taos High School Drama Dept will be presenting the student matinee of ―Romeo and Juliet‖ at the TCA on Friday

February 19th, 2010. Students who wish to attend the performance need to purchase a ticket during lunchtime on Wednesday February

17th. There are only a total of 280 tickets available and tickets will go fast! Tickets are $5.00 which includes the bus fee to and from the

TCA. Students attending the matinee must take the activity bus to and from the TCA on the day of the performance. Students are not

allowed to drive themselves to the performance.

Taos High Drama Dept will be presenting ―Romeo and Juliet‖ by William Shakespeare at the TCA. Ticket prices will be $10 for general

public and $5 for students. Shows will be

 Friday February 19th 9:00am (Taos High School Matinee)

 Friday February 19th at 7:00 pm

 Saturday February 20th at 7:00 pm

 Friday February 26th at 7:00 pm

 Saturday February 27th 1:00pm (public matinee)

 Saturday February 27th 7:00 pm

Saturday school is scheduled every Saturday from 8-12 in the Taos High Library. Please bring your own headphones if you are taking a

Compass class.
