					                  2007 Jazz Cup – Notice of Race
                                         May 27 & 28, 2007
The Lake Washington Sailing Club (LWSC) is hosting the 2007 Jazz Cup Regatta. This two-day
weekend regatta will have great sailboat one-design and handicapped buoy racing by day and
Dixieland jazz at night at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee (See http://www.sacjazz.com for more
information on the Jazz Jubilee).
Facilities
Located in the Port of Sacramento, LWSC’s facilities include a clubhouse with a large covered
deck, grass area with picnic tables, a launch ramp and an 800 lb. capacity hoist. It is your typical
Sacramento delta clubhouse, full of good times, music, food, and good sailing. Normally the
delta breeze blows from the SW at 10-15 miles per hour.
Rules, Event Classification
This regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), 2005-2008, The Prescription
of US Sailing Association; The Rules of the participating classes, the Notice of Race and by the
by the Sailing Instructions.

Eligibility
The regatta is open to all sailing dinghies approximately 19 feet and under in length. There is no
limit on the number of participating boats, but skippers are strongly urged to pre-register in order
to establish a class start. (see “Scoring and Classes” below)

Sat.   May   27   0800   -   0930   Late Registration & Check In
Sat.   May   27   1000   -   1030   Skippers meeting on deck of clubhouse
Sat.   May   27   1100   -   1700   Racing (last warning by 1700)
Sun.   May   28   1100   -   1600   Racing (last warning by 1600)
Entry & Fees
The entry fee is $35 US with a $5 discount if received by May 19, 2007.
Racing
Up to five races are scheduled for each day Saturday and Sunday (time/weather permitting).
Scoring and Classes
The Low Point Scoring system, RRS A4, will apply. Ten races are scheduled of which 5 must be
completed to constitute a series/regatta. For every 5 races completed there will be one throw out.
To qualify for a Class or for a One Design Fleet start, pre-registrations must be received no later
than May 15, 2006. One-design classes with fewer than five pre-registered will be grouped into
an Open fleet and will be scored using the 2005 Table of North American Portsmouth handicap
ratings.
Trophies and Awards
The awards presentation will be approximately one hour after the end of the last race on Sunday.
Awards will be as follows:
      One to Five starters:      2 awards
      Six to Ten starters:       3 awards
      Eleven to 15 starters      4 awards
      Fifteen or more            5 awards

Boat Storage
Boats may be stored on the water or in the parking lot over night (there is no night time security).
There is no overnight camping at the facility or Port of Sacramento.
Location
To get to the clubhouse take the Harbor Blvd exit off of Business 80 in Sacramento. Turn left
from East bound 80 and Right from West bound 80, onto Harbor Blvd (going South) at the end
of the exit ramp. Turn right on Industrial Blvd. Turn left into the Port at the yellow Iron Gate
(less than ¼ mile) and cross the railroad tracks. Travel approx. 25 yard and turn right onto the
paved road. Follow the paved road to the end and turn right on to the gravel/dirt road to the

Local Accommodations

LWSC site has no overnight accommodations, and it is not affiliated with any lodging provider.
Due to the Annual Sacramento Dixieland Jubilee these locations fill up fast. So if you plan on
attending our event you should, as soon as possible, reserve your accommodations.
