1    Figures are based on DWP modelling using Ipen model version 7.
2    Assumes person is a male employee who is not contracted out of S2P. He retires in
     2010 with a full working history from age 25 to SPA, qualifying him for full BSP (30
     qualifying years) and for additional state pension (AP). Low earner earns £20,500 per
     year, median earner earns £29,000, high earner earns £40,900.

3    Figures for 2020 and 2030 show values of BSP and AP received one decade and two
     decades into retirement respectively.
4    The dotted line shows the level of Standard Minimum Guarantee for a single person
     (£137.35 in 2011/12).
5    Assumes 'triple lock' policy for BSP (see Table 5.9) and uprating by inflation (CPI) for
     AP.
