Each of the following is a description of Elizabethan marriage customs EXCEPT



A) Instead of wearing white, Elizabethan brides wore blue. This was a symbol of fidelity

and purity.

B) Especially in the upper class, neither Elizabethan brides nor grooms had much say as to

their marriage partners.

C) Invitations were not usually issued to Elizabethan weddings. Because the villages and

towns were relatively small, everyone in the village knew about the wedding and simply

showed up.

D) Although it was legal in Elizabethan times for a girl to marry at 12 and a boy at 14, this

was not common. Boys did not usually marry until they were 21 or older, and most girls

did not marry until they were older than Juliet.
