Port Macquarie is a good sized town, pop. 60,000. This is a seaside holiday area on
the mid north coast of New South Wales, approx. 4 ½ hrs drive north of Sydney.
There are many safe surfing beaches within 10 minutes drive, as well as coastal
walking tracks & picnic areas. It has an ideal climate all year round. Stunning
mountain ranges are 2 hrs drive. It’s an easy drive to other coastal tourist towns,
while their nearest shops and eating places are 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk.
The church mentioned later is a 20 min drive.
The area is well serviced by 4 local shopping centres, local airport and mainline
railway. There is a limited local bus service, but the couple are happy to discus a car
swap too. One adult bike is available.
This split level, brick veneered detached house was built just 7 years ago.
It has a large veranda and its elevated position offers extensive views. There are
some internal stairs and a double lock-up garage.
They have a landscaped corner garden with an enclosed rear courtyard. Garden
furniture, barbecue and an outdoor spa, all make for some quality outdoor enjoyment!

North Haven Baptist Church has about 100 people in the morning congregation with
style of worship being midway between traditional and contemporary. They have
midweek home groups.
Sport and Leisure Tennis courts, 2 golf courses, tenpin bowling, 2 bowling
clubs, river/rock fishing, water sports, local joy flights.
Local places of interest Native animal park, river boating, koala sanctuary,
rainforest walks, pioneer town.

The popular beach resort town of Kiama in New South Wales is a 2 hour drive to
Sydney. Kiama has many restaurants and is famous for its fresh fish. There are lots
of craft shops, Art Studios, Spectacular Carrington Waterfalls, a tree-top walk with
fantastic views, a giant blowhole and a sea-filled rock pool for swimming…to mention
but a few!
This detached house was built in the 1950’s, but extensive renovations have taken
place with a new kitchen and bathroom added last year. It is about 3 minutes walk to
a surf beach and great coastal walks. Other fabulous beaches, sailing, fishing and
national parks are nearby. The nearest shops & eating places are about 500 metres,
and the church mentioned later is 18 km. There are also Anglican, Uniting, Baptist
and Presbyterian churches in town. While there is a direct rail link to Sydney, the use
of a car is important in order to discover the many gems of the locality. (One adult
bike is available).
The garden is enclosed and easy-care. It is mostly laid to lawn, with some flower and
shrub borders. Garden furniture and a barbecue are available for house-swappers.
There is a balcony with extensive sea views.
St Andrews is an Anglican Church in Oak Flats. About 100 people meet for a style of
worship that embraces traditional and contemporary forms. A more intimate 30
gather for evening worship. There are mid week meetings for all age-groups. The

This couple live in Montagu Bay, which is a suburb of Hobart, on the small and lovely
island Tasmania. The climate here is mild, and on a par with southern France.
Their 1970’s detached brick house is built on a slope, and is on 2 levels. It is 150
metres from the Derwent River, looking towards the Botanical Gardens and Mount
Wellington, which is the backdrop to the city of Hobart.
They are 15 minutes drive to the country, the airport, and the historic town of
Richmond. Hobart, established in 1803, was the first settlement in Tasmania and
there are many fine sandstone Georgian buildings. Population is now approx.
200,000 and the city offers a huge range of amenities and places of interest.

There is an efficient wood heating system for the relatively mild winter season, in this
largely open-plan house. There is a car-port and the people here would like to
discuss the possibility of car swap too. There is also a reasonable bus service and
one adult male bike available. Their nearest shop is 500metres and a large shopping
complex with selection of eating places is 1km. The home-owners’ married son is just
five minutes drive away, and they have good neighbours living opposite them. They
have an enclosed garden with barbecue and basket-ball hoop at the side of the

The nearest church is St James Anglican, just 50metres.
The church they attend, City gate Baptist, is 5kms away. The style of worship tends
towards contemporary and there is an average morning congregation of 160. It is a
welcoming fellowship which meets in a renovated former bowling alley!
There is a Kids Church that meets during the morning service. There are various
mid-week meetings and activities for all ages, including home groups, a ‘Time Out’
craft programme, and an ‘over 50’s Get-Together.
