Voss Restaurant Management/POS

Software for iPad/iPod Touch

About the software and the idea and business opportunity

Advanced technological devices are becoming more and more a part of everyday life in

today’s world. Touch screen devices like the iPad, which were once a figment of our

imaginations, have become a reality. Voss is a software program for iPad design to solve

the cumbersome yet common problem of wrong orders going to the kitchen or orders

taking too much time because of server mistakes. Voss would revolutionize the way in

which orders are taken and would be give restaurants an advantage in reaching the

highest customer service goals.

What’s Voss?

With advancements in not only devices, but also cloud computing Voss is leveraging the

use of remotely stored information to provide restaurants a turn-key solution via SaaS

and streamlined device software that can be maintained and updated through a user

friendly web portal.

Marketing of the software

Voss’s target includes restaurants from the bottom to the top. Voss will promote and sell

the software by convincing restaurant owners of the value and the immense amount of

customer satisfaction that can be achieved through the touch pad enabled Restaurant

Management/POS software. The software will alleviate confusion and save costs that

would normally be attributed to traditional and expensive POS touch screen computers.

Because Voss will be a cloud based SaaS customer service will be available 24/365.

Customers have no need to buy expensive computers or hire technical consulting crews

as the touch devices and a wi-fi connection are the only items required to implement a

Voss system. The iPad/iPod software will readily available for free download through the

Apple App store and restaurant managers will be able to manage and run reports directly

from an iPad or other device with web access and qualifying Voss account.

Our marketing strategy is direct selling as well as advertising on T.V., the Internet, the

Apple Application store, and culinary magazines because many people, who cook well,

have opened restaurants and hence the software can them solve restaurant management

and POS challenges effectively. Advertisements will show the ease of use behind the

application and will be easily convincing for any restaurant looking to optimize

efficiency and customer service.

Pricing

Application where the restaurant can download for free from Voss website. The service

will charge as a pay per month.

Package A 15 users = $50/month

Package B 35 users = $100/month

Package C 60 users = $150/month

Any addition users pay at $2.50/month/each

Strategy

Voss has about 6 competitors with products that already exist in the market. Voss

software and will ensure that customers get the best value. Voss will run a customer

survey in which a sample of common people, as to how many times they were served the

wrong order or waited to long for an ordered item. This data will help us win the hearts of

restaurant owners. Also, we will do a cost-benefit analysis to understand the use the

service.

What will give me competitive advantage?

Voss core competency of giving a reasonable price to the customers will give me the

edge. Voss will need to ensure that I retain that edge by continuously innovative and

trying to expand my customer base. Voss also aiming to conduct some serious research

on the feedback of the initial customers and will make changes based on their responses.

The Total Potential Available Market?

From research http://www.manta.com/mb_34_C432C_000/restaurants it shows over

800,000 restaurants in the US. We assume to reach 5% within 5 years at 40,000

restaurants. Below is the potential Available market due to the package plan. Excluding

the addition users.

Package A $50/month estimate about 20% = 40,000 x 20% = 8,000 restaurants

estimate revenue for package A/month = $50 x8,000 = $400,000

Package B $100/month estimate about 40% = 40,000 x 40% = 16,000 restaurants

estimate revenue for package B/month = $100 x16,000 = $1,600,000

Package C $150/month estimate about 40% = 40,000x 40% = 16,000 restaurants

Estimate revenue for package C/month =$150 x 16,000 = $2,400,000

So total estimate revenue per 12 month will be for Package A = $ 4,800,000

total estimate revenue per 12 month will be for Package B = $ 19,200,000

total estimate revenue per 12 month will be for Package C = $ 28,800,000

TOTAL revenue per year is $52,800,000
