The Suzhou Subway is a metro system currently under
construction to serve the city of Suzhou, in the Jiangsu
province of China. Two lines are currently under con-
struction: Line 1 and Line 2. Two other lines are also
planned to be completed around 2020. Upon completion,
the system will be about 140 kilometers long and have
109 stations. This figure involves counting interchange
stations multiple times, once for each line.[1][2][3]

Alteration of the south part of Line 4
In addition to the extension of Line 2, a change of line
management of Line 4 seems to be planned in the medi-
um term. According to the line planning information on
the operator’s website, in future the layout of Line 4 will
be changed. At that time it will not turn west after Shi-
hulu (石湖路) station but instead will be extended south-
wards to Wujiang City and then turn sharply east, in or-
der to better connect this city with its currently about
1.5 million people to Suzhou. The original part of Line 4
