SUB: INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL TOUR 2011 – USA

I am to invite your kind attention on the subject cited above and submit the following few lines
for your kind perusal and favorable action thereon.
As you are aware Literate India 2020 a Non Profit, Non Political and Non-Government
institution. It has embarked with the Mission and the Vision that India should become the
Literate Country by 2020. One of the activities of the Literate India 2020 is to expose the
bright and the meritorious students who are willing to learn and are interested in Inventions
and Discoveries for the betterment of the humanity. In this connection it is proposed to
schedule an International Educational Tour 2011 – USA for a period of 20 days to commence
from the May 5th 2011 to MAY 25th 2011. The total number of students may vary from 250 to
1,000 who are studying in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Grade & are in the age group of 14 to 20
and are willing & planning to make contributions in the field of Science, Technology,
Engineering, Medicine, Finance, Arts, Humanity, Education, Nano Technology, Agriculture etc.
The International Educational Tour basically concentrates on the development of the students
mind for innovation. So they will be coordinated to visit top universities in the USA i.e.
Harvard, Yale, MIT, NYU, Columbia, Princeton, UIC, University of Michigan, University of
Pennsylvania, Cornell. Johns Hopkins, Stanford University, North Western University etc. An
interaction session, Q & A along with Seminars will be scheduled with the concerned Faculty of
the top universities so students can plan to pursue their Under Graduate or Graduate
Programs of their choice in due course of time.
Secondly Industrial visits will be scheduled in the popular & reputed corporations like Intel,
HP, Microsoft, Boeing, Ford, GM, Chrysler, GE, IBM, Halliburton, Aramco, Shell, P & G, Cisco,
Telecom etc where the students can directly come into contact with the company executives for
firsthand information about their corporate activities.
Thirdly visit to the place of international importance i.e. NASA, Capitol Building, White House,
Smithsonian Museums, Arlington National Cemetery, Disney, Kennedy Space Center, the
Ocean Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Broadway Show, Wall Street, Time Square, Hollywood
studios, Sears Tower, Museum of Science & Industry etc.
Since the students have to apply for the required VISA to undertake their journey of the
scheduled International Educational Tour, to fulfill their dream of visiting USA, you are
requested to communicate the procedures & the mandatory requirements to be followed for
obtaining the VISA. Since necessary arrangements for Boarding, Lodging, Transportation with
logistic support and other arrangements are to be worked out for the student’s stay in various
places of the USA, you are requested to kindly provide necessary support for strengthening
bilateral relations between India & the USA. You are also requested to assign an Officer who
would be able to facilitate, coordinate & make International Educational Tour 2011 – USA a
grand success.
