Accommodations will be available in Hindman, KY for this event. Please check the type
of accommodation you are interested in. Meals are included with the accommodations. If
you would like to room with another attendee, please include their name in the space
provided. The Appalachian Artisan Center cannot guarantee the request, but will make
every effort to place you in a room with this person. There will be limited registration
availability onsite. Saturday meals include Breakfast and Lunch only. The available
housing in Hindman is quaint and rustic, so do not expect hotel type accommodations.
This is a historic campus that is very relaxing and scenic. Please bring your own towels.
Wireless internet is only available at the Artisan Center shop.

Workshop Information
The following workshops will be offered at the Artists Gathering for all
participants.
Workshop 1 “Visioning” 9:00 am
Visioning is an insightful session to get you thinking about the future of you and your
business and how to plan in order to get there. Presented by Gwenda Adkins of Kentucky
Entrepreneurial Coaches Institute.
Workshop 2 “Marketing” 10:30 am
Marketing will address product presentation, ways to approach galleries and how to
generate ideas for new marketable products. Presented by Nancy Atcher, who has many
years of experience with the Kentucky Craft Market.
Lunch Session- 12:30 pm
Panel discussion
“Artists in the New Economy: Strategies for Dealing with the Changing Economic
Times”
Workshop 3 “Pricing” 1:45 pm
Pricing will help you decide what you should price your work at and the best markets to
get that price. It is to help you understand pricing structures for retail, wholesale and
consignment sales. Presented by Peggy Burgio who has over 20 years experience in the
craft field including the Log House Craft Gallery in Berea.
Workshop 4 “E-commerce” 3:15 pm
E-commerce will provide helpful tips from someone who has been there and understands
the needs of artists. Presented by Luann Vermillion, professional artist from Whitesburg,
KY.
Product Review
Please indicate here if you would like to sign up for an individual review of your artwork
with artist Mary Reed. You can bring 5 pieces of your work and meet with her for up to
20 minutes to discuss your product and get helpful suggestions. Sign up will continue
during registration and the number of slots available will be limited.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUEST
Attendees may qualify for scholarships offered by the Appalachian Artisan Center.
To apply for a scholarship, please write at least 2 paragraphs below, explaining
why you should receive funding and how attending this gathering will benefit you. A
committee will review all scholarships requests. You will receive a response within
two weeks of when your application is received. Scholarships will cover the cost of
Friday/Saturday meals and Friday night ONLY double occupancy accommodations.
Scholarship recipients will NOT be given single room occupancy.
