Accomplishments [at this meeting], a concise account: Old business: 1) heard update
from Website Advisory Committee; 2)discussed plan for Publishing Committee website and
agreed upon a phased approach that includes a) gathering informational content for
presentation at Annual, b) publishing staff to report on best location for “How to get
published” information on ALA website, c) Carnegie-Whitney content to be re-evaluated to
provide more information and clarify expectations for winners; 3) report on issues in E-
Publishing; 4) announced WNBA Eastman Award and Carnegie-Whitney Awards. New
business: 1) 2008-09 Carnegie-Whitney committee members will be: Rochelle Carr (chair),
Susan Awe and Sara McLaughlin; 2) 2008-09 WNBA Eastman committee member will be
appointed at Annual; 3) Fred Stoss reported on green publishing iniative; 4) update from
Executive Director; 5) joint meeting with publication committee chairs
Planned activities for upcoming year, a concise account: 1) Phase 1 of Pub Committee
website subcommittee report due at Annual; 2) green publishing report due at Annual; 3)
selection of WNBA representative due at Annual; 4) email follow-up to all pub committee
chairs who attended meeting; 5) obtain list of all ALA publications from ALA library; 6)
welcome new committee members by phone and email
