Beach-inspired waves... How to create this hot summer look!
There’s no question, tousled curls and waves are the look of the season. The good news is that you don’t need to make a trip to the salon to get them.
Here’s how you can achieve the trend of the moment at home:
Step 1 Start with damp, freshly washed hair. Hydrating shampoos and conditioners help add moisture and seal the hair cuticle, which enhances and promotes the look of healthy waves. We like Advance Techniques Intense Repair Shampoo & Conditioner. Step 2 Apply styling lotion throughout. We like Advance Techniques Curl Control lotion – new in C18 and created especially to enhance curls and protect hair from heat and damage. Step 3 Take small sections of hair and twist them from top to ends and allow to fall naturally. Step 4 Dry with a diffu ser – do not scrunch the hair, this actually causes frizz. OR If time permits, allow hair to air dry. Step 5 Once hair is almost completely dry, bend over and shake curls loose. Hint: If your hair is naturally straight, you can dry hair completely; then add a few extra waves using a medium-large barrel curling iron here and there. The effect should be loose and tousled, not tight.

The secret to a summer smoky eye…
So you love the look of the smoky eye but aren’t quite sure you can risk it in the warm weather heat. Let’s face it, no one wants raccoon eyes! Put your worries aside and learn the tools and tricks you need to adapt your favourite look for summer. For starters, lighten things up! While the smoky eye usually calls for shadows in shades of charcoal and grey, instead why not soften your look and explore deep plums, blue greys, mauves and even mochas. Remember to apply the base color to your lid, the darkest shade in the crease to add depth and highlight with the lightest shade just below the brow bone. Now blend.
