									American Shipbuilding Suppliers Association (ASSA) Names Additional Directors




August 29, 2011 - The American Shipbuilding Suppliers Association (ASSA) today announced the
addition of ADM Frank “Skip” Bowman, USN (Ret), former Director of the Navy Nuclear
Propulsion Program and Mr. John E. West, President of Fox Valley Metal Tech, Inc. to its Board
of Directors. “With these additions, the Board of Directors of ASSA now represents a true
cross-section of the shipbuilding industrial base. The Board now includes two retired Navy flag
officers, three representatives from large shipbuilding supplier firms, two representatives from
small business and one labor representative. This diversity of business types, technologies and
experience will insure that the American Shipbuilding Suppliers Association (ASSA) truly
represents the entire shipbuilding supplier industrial base.” stated Carl Fisher, organizer of
ASSA.

With the full Board of Directors now in place and the Charter members on board, ASSA is
aggressively working on its inaugural Navy/Congress Members Day meeting is scheduled for
November 4, 2011 at the US Navy Memorial in Washington DC. Confirmed speakers include
Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01), RDML Jim Syring, PEO, IWS and Dr. Tim McCoy, Program
Manager, Navy Electric Ship Office (PMS-320). Future press releases will be issued as additional
invited speakers are confirmed for this event.
