Virgin Trains operates one franchise – West Coast Trains Ltd. Your responsibilities extend as explained
below and you shall use your best endeavors to discharge these responsibilities towards the company.
PURPOSE OF JOB & PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Digital Designer role is an internal design resource for the Virgin Trains team, as there is a
ongoing requirement for online creative from across the business. Working with the CRM and
Digital team the Digital Designer will be responsible for the on-brand design of items from Website
amends through to HTML email and Landing page development. This can include updating and
modifying existing designs, or creating new work that fits the brand. The Digital Designer reports to
the Brand Manager. The role includes, but is not limited to:
1. Ability to understand Virgin Trains brand to consistently promote our brand vision through
policing of guidelines, image library management and input into creative briefs.
2. Interpretation of brand guidelines into customer facing communication materials.
3. Support for internal teams including Marketing, Sales, Regional Execs and New Product
Development.
4. Working closely with Virgin Trains Marketing Agency to ensure work is integrated with the look
and feel of customer facing campaign activity.
5. Source on-brand imagery for use in digital across HTML email,. Website, and landing pages.
6. Responsible for implementing basic copy and design changes to virgintrains.com and the
Virgin Trains Intranet.
7. Ongoing development of monthly and event based HTML email
8. Develop online HTML landing pages to support promotional opportunities across the business.

9. Creation of service related email communications to support operational changes and alerts
10. Creation of promotional imagery and messages for use within the E.piphany real time targeting
tool on Virgintrains.com
11. Work with Virgin Trains partners sites, providing online assets and assisting with the
development of promotional web pages.
12. Effectively manage projects and priorities to ensure that work is delivered on time, in full

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
PC operator
• Lead digital design experience with at least one well known consumer internet brand, ideally
within ecommerce
• Experience in managing complete redesigns of significant web pages resulting in measurable
improvements
• Expert skills in Photoshop and Illustrator
• A working knowledge of HTML/CSS
• Experience creating design assets for use with social media
• A concrete grasp of UI design patterns
• A keen eye for detail
• Experience managing and prioritising the design workflow
