Game Review : Crysis By Doc Savage Crysis, seems to be the sequel that all game developers and players are looking for, one that keeps the original feels, looks, and tempo, yet changes the game to make it interesting enough to want to play again. For those of us that played Far Cry, and enjoyed the game, this one is not a disappointment, for those of you that did not, and would like to see where the future of the FPS is headed; this is the game to watch. Set in the not too distant future, a group of archeologists find a space craft buried in the North Korean soil, the game starts as you being an elite Delta Force operator, with the task of securing the site from the North Koreans. The game takes off from there, set in 4 different environments Jungle, an Ice Sphere which ends up being the Jungle setting frozen, the Alien ship itself and its zero gravity, and the good old USS Constitution. The artificial intelligence of the game, is outstanding, you will fight against enemies that react to your every noise and movement, just as though if they wear real, and is ultimately going to take a cunning warrior to finish the game, not one, who runs in a guns a blazing. Also having the ability to mod your suit of armor and weapons, gives you an idea, that it might have been stolen from Bioshock, but now it seems that a ton of games are going to pursue this avenue and it is always fun to figure out what will work and what will not. The multiplayer gives a little a way as well, with only 2 game modes, Deathmatch and a storm the fort type of Power Struggle mode, it seems nothing more than a juiced up version of the multiplayer versions of Halo. It does come with a map editor built in, but it has always been my opinion that if it was included the developers know they have missed something in order to get the game out there. Adding up the heavy system requirements, after all there is over a million lines of code, 1gb of texture data, and 85,000 shaders, this game will test even modern systems to the max. In all, if I had to give the game a rating it would end up with a 6 out of 10, single player game play is beyond excellent, but falls short in two critical area’s… 1 the multiplayer content leaves you left wanting more and 2 the system requirements, are just way too massive for anyone other than a hardcore gaming enthusiast to be able to play. Game Review: Call of Duty 4 By Fuel Call Of Duty 4:Modern Warfare is truly a ground breaking, award winning game. To many, it has been classified as the most realistic modern warfare game released to date, surpassing the ever popular Battlefield 2, America's Army, and countless others. Infinity Ward and Activision's previous hits, Call Of Duty and Call Of Duty 2, both for the PC, have been outshadowed by their latest smash hit. According to Xfire, a program millions of PC gamers use to communicate and track play time, report Call Of Duty 4:Modern Warfare as being the number two played game almost every day since it's release, second only to World Of Warcraft. Modern Warfare was an unexplored territory for the developing companies, but they've now made their claim in this multi‐million dollar gaming genre. I myself, own three of the four Call Of Duty titles, and can say that indeed Call Of Duty 4 takes place in an immense environment, with eye‐popping graphics. Gameplay and plot has not been passed over as many would expect. The single player starts you off in bootcamp to determine your playing skill. From there on, you switch between a United States Marine, and a British S.A.S officer. You travel through numerous Middle‐Eastern countries, along with Russia. The main story details a rogue, terrorist extremist taking over a middle eastern country by executing the president over national television. He then creates an army of followers who are interested in acquiring nuclear missiles from other extremists in Russia, to fire at the United State's east coast. If they are not stopped, millions upon millions of innocent people shall perish. It is your duty to put an end to the violence. Multiplayer is just as good as singleplayer. There are weapon, skin, and ability unlocks, along with rankings. The rankings, unlike other games, are stored client side, instead of server side. This allows instant updating, along with easy transferring of your statistic files from numerous computers. The custom multiplay maps vary in gametype, including deathmatch, free for all, domination, search and destroy, sabotage, and hopefully coming soon capture the flag. The stock maps played on also vary, giving all gamers something to love. Personally, I would say this is one of the best games released in the past years. It can appeal to everyone. It's available to you for a low $49.99.
