Tips on Becoming a Good Sales Person



- You must honestly believe and feel that what you are selling is a worthwhile and honest

value in order to be a success in selling.



- Don't try to sell by force.



- A good salesperson has a great attitude! Your attitude shows in every single thing that

you do. It determines your altitude; just how high you can go. Choose your attitude

everyday and choose a good one. The most successful salesperson has a positive attitude

and expects that the client will say YES.



- Being genuine with customers so people feel comfortable.



- A good salesperson knows when to change direction. They realize that they make mistakes

themselves or can misinterpret a customer’s desires. A good salesperson is always open to

change and flexible with a desire to provide a benefit to their customer.



- Good communication skills so customers understood the information being given to them

and felt heard. This also includes approaching people to offer service and being available

to help.



- Looks people in the eye so comes across as honest and reliable.



- If it looks like a salesperson, if it smells like a salesperson, if it tastes like a salesperson...

it is a salesperson. Don't be a salesperson. I mean, don't be just like every other

salesperson. Be different.



- Sometimes, talking too much may confuse your customers. You don't want to confuse your

customers because that's a good reason for them not to buy from you. Try to say more with

less.



- The best salesperson is the one the customer trusts and never has to question.



- Essential for a salesperson, confidence can be seen in all areas of selling. Whether it’s

pitching, closing, objection handling, or even just picking up the phone in the first place,

confidence is pretty much everything in sales.
