Drake Fellows from Plainfield, Illinois, baseball player, takes aim at Team USA.
Drake Fellows received an invitation to represent the Great Lakes Regional NTIS
Team in the 2011 USA Baseball National Team Identification Series (NTIS).
Drake and the rest of the Great Lakes NTIS Team will be heading to the USA
Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina September 8th
through the 11th, and will be playing to earn an invitation to the 2012 USA
Baseball National Team Trials.
Drake earned a spot on the 13U Great Lakes NTIS Team. Drake was selected by
USA Baseballs Great Lakes Regional Director, Peter Caliendo and his Staff. Coach
Caliendo wrote “Over the past 12 weeks we have had the opportunity to work with
some of the best amateur baseball players in the Nation and the level of talent that
was showcased by our players was truly remarkable. The strength of the Great
Lakes Region is based primarily on everyone’s love for this great game.”
The USA Baseball NTIS consists of 14 Regional teams, each of which fields a
team at the 13U, 15U, and 17U level for a total of 756 players. USA Baseball will
name a minimum of eight players to the 2012 18U National Team Trials (18U); a
minimum of eight players to the 2012 16U National Team Trials (16U); and a
minimum of 16 players to the 2012 14U National Team Trials. While the NTIS is
designed to supplement the existing programming being done at the 18U and 16U
age groups, it will constitute the primary identification opportunity for the 14U
