JOB TITLE: HEAD OF CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

motivated, credible individual who has widespread knowledge and experience of
international and domestic media interface and who has the vision and creativity to steer
our future marketing efforts to continue to position Ireland as a leading international
business location for the world’s most innovative corporations.
JOB PURPOSE
This is a key senior position in IDA, managing a strong team and reporting to the CEO,
you will be expected to further develop the organisation’s international and domestic
communication strategies through effective PR, brand building, and social media
optimisation, ensuring we engage with the widest and most appropriate target audiences
across the globe.
KEY TASKS
To deliver a refreshed and resilient integrated Communications Strategy;
To ensure that the media strategy delivers enhanced visibility and engagement
with the key international and domestic media commentators, exploiting both
IDA’s and Ireland’s brand identity to its fullest potential;
To take a proactive approach to building key relationships which will enable IDA
Ireland to expand media coverage and broaden its target audiences;
To develop and add value to the complementary strategic marketing efforts driven
by Ireland inc;
To further develop IDA’s social media strategy to ensure all potential influencers
are accessed;
To put in place an appropriate and well designed and co-ordinated speaking
programme for the CEO and senior managers that ensures IDA is consistent in it’s
engagements with the media
To contribute to the strategic management of IDA through participation as part of
the Management Committee;

To lead, manage and motivate a strong team of staff to deliver high quality and
efficient services to staff and clients;
To deliver key tasks by ensuring dignity, respect and equality are applied in the
workplace;
To ensure continuous learning and development is undertaken through
participating in performance management and development review.
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
All competencies for Level F (Department Manager) are relevant for this role.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience of working in international and domestic media interface
Knowledge of international branding and marketing
An associated degree or business degree
Experience of the use of social media as a marketing tool
The successful candidate will be expected to be capable of making a significant
contribution in IDA over coming years.
This position will be at Department Management Level
Salary Scale:
€84,132 to €97,417 per annum contributory superannuation
Rising by long service increment to €100,446 (after 3 years) and €103,472 (after 6 years)
Please note that the successful candidate will be placed on the minimum of the above
scale.
Rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Pay Policy.
