When America’s information technology
sector was still a nascent industry, the
verbal and written communication strate-

behind the technological advances. To
address that discrepancy, Carnegie Mel-

high-tech industry finds itself in a similar
situation. The nation’s many engineers
and consultants often aren’t well-versed
in the technical communication tools that
they need to successfully deliver products
and services. Once again, Carnegie
Mellon has stepped in to fill that void.
