alaamualaikum :)
I hope you are in the best of health! Insha'Allah. The reason why i have sent this email is
regarding your disrespect to our project, on your website "1Eid disuniting the ummah through
Eid" is there a need for such things?, our main objective is to unite the community within the
celebration and prayer of Eid reviving the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (SAW), where is
your evidence as for this is fitnah, free mixing you say? our rides are fully segregated of
course this is a family orientated event we cannot prevent families from sticking together. If
you keep on claiming that there is fitnah within our event, our rides and prayer and
entertainment is fully segregated, if you think walking around in a park as one family passes
another family by is fitnah then you are deeply mistaken, when you walk in the streets are you
not free mixing? I think it is highly disrespectful to put such claims and then disregard our
project in which a group of volunteer Muslim brothers and sisters put their hearts and soul into
to making sure Luton has the best Eid this year!, if you had plans to do a similar event years
ago why was it not done, why did you not revive the sunnah, you kept your Eid salaah to your
masjid and did not act upon what you wanted to do. 1Eid was established way before you had
plans to create such an event the only matter that remained was creating the same 1Eid
event that had been happening across the country in Luton. If you wanted to do a similar
event why did you not just join the 1Eid project and show your support to the project, with you
creating your own Eid prayer in Wardown park this is fitnah! causing trouble and division in
the ummah! why split up the Ummah Luton is infested enough as it is with division why add
fuel to fire?. If you had sincere intentions to revive the Sunnah then you would have done this
as soon as you thought of it, it is shameful as we did not disrespect your wishes to pray in
Wardown park and not be a part of 1Eid, Insha'Allah 1Eid will carry on Insha'Allah 1Eid has
established the biggest Eid prayer in Europe! and Insha'Allah will establish the biggest Eid
prayer in Luton, maybe next year you will come to your senses and join our project which the
main purpose is to unite the community and please Allah (SWT). 1Eid is not here to cause
division nor is it here to create fitnah and free mixing, please provide me with evidence if Allah
(SWT) has said in the glorious Quran that muslims cannot have fun? (of course in a halal
manner). We have spent months and months in planning and we have worked out ways to
tackle (if any of these problems arise) fitnah or any other problems that may occur but
Insha'Allah we pray that none of this will happen. I pray to Allah (SWT) that he gives us all
tawfeeq and guides us to straight path
Salaamualaikum warahmatu'Allahi wabarakutu
Reply To 1Eid’s Email:
You may see this as disrespect, but that is clearly through your lack of knowledge
of this religion, may Allah facilitate for you the seeking of knowledge. Ameen. The
refutations on our website of your event is based upon the hadeeth its meaning is
the messenger (s) from Abu Hurairah (ra):
“There was once a man who boarded a ship to sail with others, when
each one of them took their seats and the ship has began sail, water
became scarce so the man begun to create a hole under his seat to reach
water. All the other passengers got together and stopped him. The
messenger (s) then said: if they left him to dig that hole he would have
died and they all would have died with him.”
So the above hadeeth shows that some people must forbid the evil of others for
the sake of the general well being of all. Your event has caused fitnah and
splitting and division on one hand and on another hand your dawah (call) is not to
the way of the salaf rather it is a call to the methodology of ikwaan al
muslimoom; this is apparent from the speakers you have invited and anasheed
artists invited and innovative practice, etc which we found advertised on your
leaflets and propagated by your callers. So our refutation of your event is
forbidding your evil practices and not out of disrespect to individuals.
Regarding your main objective which is to unite the community through the eid
prayer – this is not the way of the Messenger (s) in calling to unity, reviving his
sunnah is indeed a praiseworthy action however that is not the way to unity as
you describe!! The way to unity is calling the people to seeking correct
knowledge, and purifying the aqeedah and manhajj of the various groups that
exist in your community, then educating the community upon the way of the
salaf. This is something clearly you are not doing and would not do in any case
because you disagree with this. As you know when you start to speak and refute
false aqaaid and expose innovations of the groups around you, you will have lost
many of your numbers, and numbers is your primary goal, that defeats your
purpose/objective you claimed at the beginning, ie: “our aim is to have the
largest number of people in Europe” – so you are all about quantity not quality
that is another ikwaani principle which you hold on to, which apposes the
teachings of the sunnah.
As for your clarification that you have hired the funfair as a private event and will
be fully segregated. Then firstly understand this is a secondary concern of ours
the above is our primary concern. In any case we hope you will succeed in that
segregation this time round, as the brothers in Harrow have informed us your
event there was full of free mixing! – so our comments were based on your
previous track record.
In any case, I believe you will find it extremely difficult to segregate the funfair,
as you have openly invited non muslims – and that in and of itself is not a
problem, except they will come with their nakedness, and boyfriend and
girlfriends. Also, how will you stop them and stop the jahil Muslim girls and boys
who frequent these places from flirting with each other, also the music in the
funfair have you made an agreement with the supplier not to play music? –
attending such places of munkar is one thing, but organising them is something
else.
Do you still need more evidence that your event is a cause of fitnah, if you do
here is a summery of a few – uniting the community in a way other than the way
of the prophet (s) – is fitnah!, the innovation of celebrating this eid over 3 days –
is a fitnah!, your parachuting into town and creating another group – do we not
already have enough groups? – is a fitnah!, the duaat you intend to call are not
salafi teaching a methodology other than that of the salaf – is a fitnah!, the
unknown preachers you are promoting – is a fitnah! – Ibn Mubarak said: “this
knowledge is about your religion, so be careful who you take it from” the
impossible segregation of your funfair (according to our view) – is a fitnah!, the
opening of doors for our children who have been sheltered from such immoral
free mixing, make up, boy/girl chasing etc which will be a trial for them to deal
with in later years – is a fitnah!, your inviting a nasheed group which imitates the
kufar and innovate in the religion – is a fitnah!, e mails sent out from ieid
accusing the masjids of disuniting the ummah due to their so called egos is a
fitnah, I really can go on but I think the above is sufficient for now.
You claim we are disrespectful because: “Muslim brothers and sisters put their
hearts and soul into to making sure Luton has the best Eid this year!
I say – that is not an obligation on the Muslims brothers and sisters. Would it not
be better for the community if you all were to put your heart and soul into
learning your religion, teaching the correct aqeeda, purifying the Ummah from it’s
shirk and innovations?? If you did this, you would be following the way of the
prophet and his companions and done a great service to the community. Your
great efforts are wasted on fun and games, (not to say fun and games is not
permissible) but when you do it as you say - put your heart and soul into fun and
entertainment then yes that is not permissible. – What a waste! Please take
heed.
You said:
if you had plans to do a similar event years ago why was it not done, why did you
not revive the sunnah, you kept your Eid salaah to your masjid and did not act
upon what you wanted to do. 1Eid was established way before you had plans to
create such an event.
I say:
The reason why it was not done was due to the weather, and Allah says in the
Quran – he also said:
he also says: and there are many other
evidences to prove there was ease for the Muslims in those cold months. So
thinking about the weak ones amongst us we delayed it until 2011,that decision
was made in 2009 – as we knew Ramadan/eid would fall in summer of 2011. 1
eid can be established years ago as far as we are concerned, but in Luton it
reared its ugly head in 2011 and not before.
You claim: we are causing fitnah by our eid prayers, look into the stick in your
own eye first! Your duty was to join the existing jamaat and not make a new one
– so you were the ones who split off. Why did you not attend the meeting we
arranged to try and prevent this occurrence? Why did you not come under our
masjid banner – please answer this question as it will clearify the main reason for
this fitnah.
