Keith Coats:
Keith's skills lie in his ability to find appropriate frameworks and processes for individuals
and companies to think strategically and explore leadership and personal development.
Keith is a highly regarded and experienced consultant, who has presented at several
international leadership programs and conferences; He has lectured in graduate
development and MBA programs internationally.
Keith is on the International Advisory Board of the Global Leaders Conference; has been
involved in the Hawaii University - Asia Pacific Leadership Program at the East West Centre,
for the past eight years and is a member of the Salzburg Seminars having attended two
sessions on leadership.
Keith, at the request of HM The King of Sweden presented at the Values Based Leadership
Forum at the Royal Palace, Stockholm in 2008 and in 2009 was a key note presenter at the
Sweden Economic Forum in Marstrand, Sweden where he spoke on global trends impacting
business and in particular, leadership.
2010 has taken Keith to Japan, lecturing in an MBA program at the University of Tsukuba,
and China to present at the Global Leadership Conference in Biejing.
The scope of Keith’s work experience includes:

management, organizational design, personal development and the future world
of work

leadership, diversity and talent development and management
• Regular guest on a variety of national TV and radio programmes to provide
expert opinion on leadership / generational theory / global trends
Keith has worked with both leaders and their executive teams in numerous international
blue chip companies. He is the author of ‘Everything I know about leadership I learnt from
the kids’ (Penguin) and his leadership articles have been published in a variety of local as
well as international publications and journals. Keith has formally researched leading teams
through organisational change and has experience in facilitating both strategic processes
and mergers.

Keith is passionate about the international role and voice South Africa can play in leading
diversity and has frequently been invited to share the ‘South African Story’ internationally.
He has come to be regarded as one of South Africa’s more significant contributing voices on
human development and leadership.
Away from his leadership vocation Keith is an avid Liverpool fan, general armchair sports
expert and very bad (but tragically enthusiastic) golfer. He is married to Vicky and they have
three children: Keegan (24), Tamryn (22) and Sipho (18).
