invigorating. The primary objective of our program is to promote sports and fitness as a
way of life in conjunction with the expectations of Bailey Middle School. Our activities
will allow us to view students as individuals, promote a safe and fun environment and
ensure lifelong learners.

                           General Information
Uniforms
Uniform can be purchased during the first three weeks of school. Uniforms consist of a
Spring ISD PE shirt and shorts. The cost is $17.00 CASH ONLY! More than one uniform
may be purchased, if desired. During P.E. classes, the students’ shorts will be worn
above the hips and t-shirts will be tucked into the shorts at all times. The uniform can
ONLY be worn during P.E. class. Not following the rules stated above is a violation of
the school dress code and appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken.

Lockers
All students will be issued a locker. Students are asked to NOT give anyone their locker
combination and to lock up all valuables while in class.

Hygiene
All gym uniforms will be taken home by the student each Friday for laundry purposes
and must be returned to school on Monday. Students are allowed to shower at the end
of class. Towels are not provided. Deodorant may be stored in their lockers. According
to Spring ISD Policy: body spray, perfume or colognes will not be allowed on campus.
NO GLASS BOTTLES!

Dressing Requirements
Students must dress out everyday. Any type of athletic shoes shall be worn each day
along with the uniform. No jewelry shall be worn during boys or girls P.E. classes. This
also applies to newly pierced ears for boys and girls. This is a safety concern.

Excused and Unexcused Participation
Students may be excused from daily activities for reasons listed on a note from the
parents. This note will be good for up to 3 days if needed. The note must contain the
reasons to why the student cannot participate.
The student can be assigned other duties such as score keeping, a writing assignment
and/or walking for class credit. The only means for a student to be excused from
dressing out is if he/she has a note from a doctor.

Tardies
Students will have to sign a tardy log if they are not inside the locker room by the time
the tardy bell rings. On the third tardy, a phone call will be made. On the forth tardy, the
student will receive an after school two hour detention.
