                              Short-Term Trip Approval Sheet
                                                For Casas-Led Trips
Purpose: This approval process was designed to ensure that short-term trips meet Casas' standards and to
facilitate understanding and communication. Global Outreach, in discussion with the full-time Global Worker
and the Trip Leader, approves the following. No promotion, recruiting, fundraising, or depositing funds into
the trip account can begin until this form is approved.

Procedure: GO Pstr proposes to BF director and their Pstr. When they are in agreement, GO sends draft to
Global Worker for input. When a final copy is ready, Global Outreach, global worker, and trip leader each
affirm their agreement by electronic reply to the final draft. Global Outreach will give copies of signed
(physically or electronically) form to the Global Teams Director, the global worker, and the Trip Leader. The
Global Teams Director will then assist the Trip Leader in making the trip happen. If any changes are
proposed, Global Outreach, Trip Leader, and global worker must all agree and this document must be
updated.

(1) Casas does short-term trips through ABFs
• Old world - individuals went on short-term trips. New World - Now Casas has the expectation that each ABF as a department will send and serve together
on a short-term trip.
• The whole class participates by encouraging the goers, praying for God to provide their prayer and financial support, commissioning them, communicating
with them on trip, hearing their story afterward.
• Since the New Testament God has used faith communities, often the size of our ABF, to send out people on short-term trips.

(2) This is a strategic need.
Tell the story of:
  • The global worker – name, history with Casas
  • What results they're getting
  • The task they are invited us to accomplish on the field

For example, “This country was part of the former Soviet Union. Now it is being tempted into different worlds – U.S./European-style freedom and
materialism or Middle-Eastern-style fundamentalism. Right now there is a window of opportunity open.

“The long-term workers offer English classes for the most open segment of society – stu¬dents. They are inviting us so they can attract students to come
talk with English speakers. We can make a lot of contacts in a short time so they can follow up the most open.”

(1) Casas does short-term trips through ABFs
• Old world - individuals went on short-term trips. New World - Now Casas has the expectation that each ABF as a department
together on a short-term trip.
• The whole class participates by encouraging the goers, praying for God to provide their prayer and financial support, commiss
communicating with them on trip, hearing their story afterward.
• Since the New Testament God has used faith communities, often the size of our ABF, to send out people on short-term trips.

(2) This is a strategic need.
Tell the story of:
  • The global worker – name, history with Casas
  • What results they're getting
  • The task they are invited us to accomplish on the field

For example, “This country was part of the former Soviet Union. Now it is being tempted into different worlds – U.S./European-s
materialism or Middle-Eastern-style fundamentalism. Right now there is a window of opportunity open.

“The long-term workers offer English classes for the most open segment of society – stu¬dents. They are inviting us so they ca
come talk with English speakers. We can make a lot of contacts in a short time so they can follow up the most open.”

                                                          Pre-Trip
Invite your Department to consider going on this trip. Vision: Casas does short-term trips through ABFs. There is a need, we
can help meet the need, God can use you. Talk individually to Department members, saying that they could make a
difference and they could be blessed by going.
Ask your Department if they will be willing to be the Senders for those who will go on this trip. Tell them that they will receive
a letter from the Goer(s) in the next week or so. Ask the Department to pray for God to provide the prayer and financial
support for the Goer(s) as they share their ministry with others through support letters. Since the New Testament God has
used faith communities, often the size of our ABF, to send out people on short-term trips.
Talk to individual Department members. Tell them that they could make a difference by going; going would be a spiritual
experience. For example, “I’m considering going, why don’t you go with me.” “I could picture you over there.” “You are so
good with people.” “God can use you.”
Pass out Trip Summary sheet again, cast vision to class to consider being goers
Talk to individuals about going (see other sheet).

Have Global Worker (and someone from GO Team) share in class about ministry and trip
GO Pastor comes to explain how the church needs the department to participate as Senders in order for the Goers to be
approved.
Please do these every week (or every other week) starting today:
(1) During the ministry time, ask Goers what is happening in their training, what are their prayer requests, and how much
money they still need.
(2) Remind Department that Goers contribute their own funds but like Olympic athletes or astronauts or soldiers, they rely on
their community to send them.
(3) Lead in prayer (or make sure someone prays) for God to provide those funds.
Remind the Department that they should volunteer to individual Goers members to be Intercessors, Encouragers, Listeners,
Communicators, and Practical Supporters. Each Goers member has to identify 10 intercessors.
Cast vision for Department to participate with Goers on Lightning Trip (see date below). Delegate sign-up coordination to
someone in department.
Schedule two dates with Goers: Commissioning (see suggested date below) and Trip Presentation (see suggested date
below in the Post-Trip section).
