Weep Box Installation instruction
for
1/2" and 3/4" steambeads.
The STEAMIST Weep Box comes to you ready for installation, a clear lucite shield designed to defuse steam as
it discharges into your, bathing area, eliminating the possiblity of hot spots. Translucent to match any surround-
ing; durable and easy to install in new and existing bathing areas.
I. Installation
A. New - For installation of the Weep Box in a new bath area.
1) The threaded steam pipe must be exposed 3/4" in most installations, see figure 1, this will
allow for the added thickness of the Weep Box.
IMPORTANT: When installing the Weep Box with a 1/2" Brass Steamhead and Escutcheon Plate the
threaded steam pipe must be exposed 1-3/16" from the wall. See figure 1.
2) Be sure the steam pipe is installed at the proper length from the wall.
3) Place Weep Box first onto steam pipe then the Escutcheon Plate. See figure 2. Screw the
steamhead onto the steam pipe until it begins to touch the Escutcheon, allowing it to spin
freely. The steamhead must have the steam outlet opening facing down. Care should be taken
to protect the steamhead from being scratched or marred during installation.
4) A slot is provided in the underside of the Weep Box to allow a screwdriver access for tighten
ing the securing screw in the underside of the escutcheon, this will dead end at the collar of
the steamhead. Be sure the securing screw is facing down in order notto be visible.

the wall. If not pipe length must be changed appropriately.
