FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 29, 2004

QSA and RAB to Form New Global Certification Authority

Dear Colleagues,

Sydney, Australia, and Milwaukee, USA - The Quality Society of Australasia Limited (QSA

International) and the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) have today signed a Letter of Intent

expected to result in the formation of a new global personnel certification body by the end of

2004. The new organization will combine the auditor certification and training course

accreditation programs of RAB with QSA’s auditor and specialized personnel certification

programs and training provider accreditation.

“The new organization will capitalize on the strengths of both organizations,” said Michael K.

Carmody, QSA Director and CEO. “In addition, it will facilitate expansion into new markets and

the development of a broader international service profile.”

“Combining QSA’s and RAB’s capabilities represents the joining of forces of two organizations

very similar in mission, size, and financial resources that are focused on serving the global

marketplace,” said Robert H. King Jr., RAB President and CEO.

“The benefits to be realized by QSA’s and RAB’s auditors and members will be paramount in

our discussions,” said Carmody. The organization will be one of the world’s largest accredited

personnel certification and training provider accreditation organizations, providing a range of

recognition and professional development services worldwide. It will be the only organization of

its kind to operate through an electronic-based medium and be accredited to ISO/IEC

17024:2003, General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons, and certified to

ISO 9001:2000, Quality management systems – requirements.

The global certification authority is a strategic response to industry’s need for robust personnel

certification programs. Further details on the new organization and the increased benefits to

QSA and RAB certified personnel, professional members, and training providers will be

released as the planning process nears completion.

Any formal agreement between QSA and RAB is subject to approval by the respective boards of

directors.
