Mn/DOT anticipates issuing one RFP for the River Bridge and all

other project elements (roadway, traffic control, non-river

bridges, retaining walls, drainage, lighting, public involvement,

permitting, etc.).





District 6 MN Highway 19 Planning Study - Mn/DOT and the City of Northfield have identified a need to mark.schoenfelder@state.mn.us 05/26/2011

Interstate 35 to Northfield conduct a planning study for this Medium Priority Inter-regional

corridor with the State’s highway system. Safety and high

volumes are becoming a greater problem in this 7-mile corridor.

The current ADT's on various segments of this corridor range

from 9,000 to 10,000. The city of Northfield recently annexed

530 acres northerly, adjacent to the corridor and 450 acres

southerly, adjacent to the corridor. Also, the City has developed

a Master Plan adjacent to the corridor. Publication of the RFP is

scheduled for mid October 2011.

Rehabilitation and Relocation of inspection for rehabilitation and relocation of Historic Bridge No.

Historic Bridge No. 5399/R0259 5399/R0259 to Lake Louise State Park in Mower County. The

Contractor will need prior experience with re-assembly of a truss

structure.



Among other duties, the Contractor will perform construction

inspection in accordance with State’s Contract Administration

Manual and Mn/DOT Construction Manual, respectively. The

on February 24, 2012.



The Construction Oversight Contractor will need prior

experience with oversight services on complex roadway and

bridge construction projects. Among other duties, the

Contractor will perform construction inspection in accordance

with State’s Contract Administration Manual and Mn/DOT

Construction Manual, respectively. The Contractor will also

perform all tasks required and provide results for Materials

Sampling and Testing (Field Sampling and Testing) in accordance

with the current State Schedule of Materials Control.

Publication of the RFP for the oversight contract is scheduled for

late fall 2011.
