Pie chart for frequencies
Select Pie Chart from the Graph
options of the Task List
• You can choose a simple pie or pies comparing groups
• With Group Pie you get a separate pie for each group
(e.g., each ethnicity)
• With Stacked Pie you get pies stacked on top of one
another to compare groups
• With Group/Stacked pie you can obtain pies comparing
two grouping factors
• Select the Simple Pie for this example
Drag Age to the Column to chart box
• Under Appearance/Pies you can select the color
scheme, and choose among methods to specify
the number of slices
• For this example age groups are created by
specifying the values
• Under Appearance/Layout you can choose the
outline color for the pie, and select the position
for the name of the slice, the percentage of the
total, and the statistic (in this example the
number of patients). You can also choose
arrows if you want them.
• At the bottom of Appearance/Layout you can
specify the percentage of values to include in an
‘Other’ category.
• Changing the name under Label changes the
name on the pie for the Other category.
• Under Appearance/Legend you can pick
the position and name of a legend.
• You can also choose the color for the
outline of the legend box

Pie with means
• Go back to Task Roles and drag BP to the
Sum of field
• The default is to calculate the sum of the
field (here BP)
• Go to Appearance/Advanced and change
Sum to Mean
• Now you will get the mean BP for your
slices
