Summary
Having qualified with a degree in Environmental Health, Ted subsequently spent 15 years
gaining experience with blue chip retail companies in the field of hygiene and Health and
Safety. During this time, active membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental
Health and the British Retail Consortium Safety Group allowed close links to be made with
central agencies of enforcement and policy makers.

Frequently involved in the consultative process put forward by the Health and Safety
Executive for safety guidance and codes of practice, Ted has frequently presented papers at
both national and regional conferences on a wide range of subjects.

In 1996 I established a consultancy through which I serve numerous clients advising and
training in all areas of Health and Safety and Food Safety.

Capable of working in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and related packages

      Devising and delivering a wide range of Health & Safety and Food Safety training
       programs to all levels within an organisation. Chartered Institute of Environmental
       Health registered trainer offering the full range of courses available in the company
       brochure.
      Devising bespoke training programs for all levels within large, medium and small
       enterprises ensuring legal, moral and business responsibilities are met
      Preparing and revising company policies and procedures on health, safety and fire
       prevention in line with legal, moral and business obligations and requirements.
      Monitor the standards of health, safety and fire prevention throughout the Company
       instigating actions and policy changes where standards fall below that required by
       the business
      Provide information and advice to directors, managers and staff on matters relating
       to health, safety and fire prevention
      Assist and advise senior managers who have designated health and safety
       responsibilities in order that all issues and incidents are handled in a competent and
       consistent manner.
      Ensure that the technical and legal input on health and safety and fire prevention
       training is accurate and adequate.
      Be fully aware of all relevant existing and new legislation and trends in the field of
       health, safety and fire prevention. Evaluate the impact of these on the business and
       communicate these requirements as necessary to ensure the Company fulfils its
       obligations.
   Ensure that agreed reporting standards are met through the Group, collating and
    reporting upon health, safety and fire prevention issues as required.
   Investigate with appropriate management all health, safety and fire prevention
    issues and incidents, reporting on the findings, recommending any remedial actions
    necessary and policy changes where required.
   Provide advice and guidance to health and safety committees
   Provide technical and professional expertise on behalf of the organisations
    legal/insurance action on health, safety and fire prevention matters
   Investigate and follow up major incidents, accidents and claims with a view to future
    prevention and loss reduction
