Community Development Minister, Lily DʼAmbrosio,
visited Springside Recreation Reserve on
Wednesday 25 August to announce that the State
Government would provide $500,000 towards
construction of the $2.2 million community pavilion.

Ms DʼAmbrosio also announced a $50,000 grant to
assist Melton Shire Council in their Community
Infrastructure Planning project.

Melton Shire Council Mayor, Cr Justin Mammarella
JP, welcomed the funding which was the result of
Council advocating on behalf of its residents to the
State Government.

“We truly appreciate the great partnership we have
with the State Government and the support we
receive from them and the Federal Government for
our fast growing community,” the Mayor said.

“There is great need for a community pavilion at this
location and Council has advocated to the State
Government for additional funding and the Ministerʼs
announcement is a wonderful result of all the hard
work by Council,” Cr Mammarella said.

When complete, the pavilion will be available for
community use for a wide range of purposes
including meetings, events, classes, seminars and
workshops.

The facility will also provide changing rooms and
amenities for users of the reserveʼs
synthetic surfaces.
