Operating the power supply Power Supply

1. Set the operating voltage on the rear of the power supply: Model PS13.8V28A-BP, 13.8VDC, 28A

n Select 115 for 100/110/120VAC operation.

n Select 230 for 200/220/240VAC operation.

2. Connect the primary load to either the binding posts (any current up to the power supply’s

maximum rating) or to the cigarette lighter socket (7A maximum). Optionally, connect a sec-

ondary load to the quick connectors (7A maximum). Nominal output is 13.8VDC.

3. Move the power swith to the ON position.

During operation:

Features and specifications

n The cooling fan operates when the power supply is on. Fan speed varies with load. n 28 Amps maximum, 25 Amps Continuous at 13.8 VDC

n The power supply will shut off if output current exceeds 30A. To reset: turn the power supply n Binding posts for high current devices

off, wait 20 seconds, turn the power supply on.

Precautions

Rear panel n Follow all instructions in this manual to assure safe operation.

n When the power supply has been run for a long period, before turning it off, run it for a short

period without any load to allow the cooling fan to reduce case temperature.

n DANGEROUS VOLTAGE INSIDE!

n DO NOT OPEN THE CASE WITH POWER ON.

Quick connectors AC input socket n OPEN CASE ONLY TO REPLACE FUSE.

n THERE ARE NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE.

Replacing the fuse

1. Make sure the power supply’s power switch is set to OFF.

2. Disconnect the AC power cord.

3. Wait at least one full minute for the power supply’s capacitors to discharge.

4. Remove 4 screws securing the lid through the side panels.

5. Remove the lid.

6. Remove the fuse, located near the AC input socket.

7. Install a new 6A fuse of the same type.

8. Replace the lid and secure it with 4 screws. www.revolectrix.com
