Important information for Mechatronics Engineering students
If you are a Mechatronics engineering student who commenced your course at mid
year intake on the Sunway campus or if you have failed units, you will experience
sequencing issues with the timetabling of Mechatronics units on the Clayton campus,
which may preclude you from being permitted to transfer.
Due to this issue, the Faculty of Engineering at the Clayton campus does not accept
applications for mid year intake for Mechatronics Engineering.
Transferring from Sunway is not advisable, however if you do apply to transfer to
Clayton, the faculty will need to be satisfied that you are able to undertake a full time
load to meet your visa requirements. Please note, a full-time study load is 4 units per
semester. If you are unable to undertake a full time study load you will not be
permitted to transfer to Clayton. The faculty recommends that students in this
position remain at the Sunway campus for an extra semester or two to make up
failed units and/or to manage their progression to enable them to transfer for the next
semester one intake.
If you do transfer to Clayton, it is up to you to plan your future enrolment with the
engineering course coordinator at the Sunway campus, prior to accepting an offer to
transfer to the Clayton campus, to complete your degree.
*Please note, if you are a Mechatronics engineering student who commenced in a
semester 1 intake at the Sunway campus and have not failed any units, there are no
sequencing issues so the above does not apply.
