Hair Loss Treatment for Men
Luckily for men, there have been great advancements in men hair loss treatments. Propecia
and other 5-aplha-reductance inhibitors, and the advent of surgical hair restoration have made it
possible that people no longer have to live with and bear hair loss that is visible to everyone.
Hair loss can now be
completely stopped or at least slowed down, and hair that has been lost can replaced through
surgery with results that are natural.
But even with all the good things in the hair loss industry, there are still treatments that are
scams for making money. There are advertisements in men’s magazines, on the radio and on
T.V that promise treatments for hair loss. But most of these do no work to prevent or treat hair
loss. There are high chances that using these will result in a waste of money and time.
For a treatment to work, early intervention of the problem is very necessary. Success depends
on this. As soon as signs of hair loss appear, a high quality product should be used for
treatment immediately.
Clinically Proven Treatments for Men
Finasteride (Proscar, Propecia)
Finasteride was initially produced by Merck, a major pharmaceutical company, for the treatment
of enlarged prostrate glands. While using it for trails on men, hair growth was found as a side
effect. As a result, finastride began to be developed as the first pill for the treatment of male
pattern baldness.
Minoxidil (Rogaine)
Minoxidil was the first drug to be used in treating male pattern baldness. Initially in pill form, it
was used extensively for the treatment of high blood pressure. As it was in the case of
Finasteride, an intriguing side effect of the drug was observed; those who used the medicine
started growing hair in places such as their cheeks, the back of their hands, and even on their
foreheads. Depending on the extent of hair loss, minoxidil proved to be successful in growing
hair on balding areas.
Natural or herbal treatments has become more popular and proven to be safer for the hair loss
treatments. It is most recommended treatment methods nowadays.
