      2011

October            Present 2012-2013 Budget Calendar to the BOE
                   Present preliminary cost and revenue projections, GAP analysis
November           Meet with budget builders, create budget development procedures

December           Present preliminary budget parameters to the BOE: cost and revenue projections

      2012         Propose: First meeting of month present budget blocks to BOE, discussion, mods, Second mtg is fuinal present of those blocks?

January            Meet with budget builders throughout the month
                   BOE update: BOCES budget, debt service, employee benefits

February           Meet with budget builders throughout the month
                   BOE update: operational and support budget (Operations & Maintenance, Transportation, General Support, Technology)
                   **NEW** Business Official must report proposed tax levy to Stte Comptroller's office by March 1

March              Meet with budget builders throughout the month
                   BOE update: operational and support budget (Regular and Special Education, extra and co-curricular)

March 30           First legal notice to newspaper for Annual Meeting
                   Absentee ballots available to qualified district residents

April 2            Proposed Budget adopted by Board of Education - Mandated by April 22, 2012 [Regular BOE Meeting 4.9]
                   BOE provide Administration with guidance on size and scope of budget mailing (considering Internal Audit report)

April 3              Property Tax Report Card to State Education Department and local newspapers of general circulation
(no later than 4.21)   Transferred electronically no later than twenty-four (24) days prior to Annual Meeting

April 6            Second legal notice to newspaper for Annual Meeting

April 16           Deadline for Board of Education petitions
                   Deadline for submission of petitions for special propositions
                   Reserve date for special Board of Education meeting if needed

April 16-May9      Absentee ballot applications sent as requested by district residents
                   District Clerk must maintain a list of names of residents who were given absentee ballots

April 18           BOCES Annual Election and statutory budget vote on Administrative Budget
                     [Set by statute]

April 25           Third legal notice to newspaper for Annual Meeting

April 30           2012-13 School Budget newsletter mailed to district residents
                   Budget Statement and Required attachments must be made available, upon request, at each school building
                   and at the district office, public or free association library and on the district's website at least 7 days before the
                   Budget Hearing and at least 14 days before the Budget Vote.

May 7              School Budget Hearing: 1st Public presentation of the 2012-13 School Budget
                      [7-14 days prior to vote]

May 8              Issue absentee ballot application if personally requested (cannot send application)
                   Issue Six-Day Budget Notice to district residents one day after budget hearing but no later than six
                       (6) days prior to the annual budget meeting
                   Final legal notice to newspaper for Annual Meeting

May 15             Annual Budget Vote
