 This gives you the size and total number of

servings in the container.

Percent Daily Value



 This gives you the dietary allotment of a

specific nutrient based on percentage of daily

allotment.

 Example.

 Total fat per serving is 13g, or 20% of daily

value. (Based on RDA, explained later)

 The food carrying this label accounts for 20

percent of the recommended fat allotment for

a 2,000 calorie diet.

 This gives you the number of grams (weight)

of the nutrient recommended for people with

two different total calorie intake needs (either

2,000 or 2,500 calories consumed per day).
