Workshop on Skill Lab
The Board of Skill Lab Activities held a Workshop on “Reviewing the Use of Skill Lab As
A Tool for Social Work Education” for all the Faculty Members of the Institute on Monday
25th April. The Workshop took a closer look at the activities held so far as ‘Skill Lab
Sessions’ by faculty and decided on topics and strategies for skill lab sessions for the
academic session 2011-12. The Principal in his address informed that based on its own
experiential learning, the Institute intents to bring out a manual of Skill Lab activities in
the near future. Ms Jyoti Niswade, efficiently coordinated the Workshop.
University Level Workshop on Use of ICT
A One-Day University Level Workshop on “Use of ICT to Enhance Work Efficiency in Colleges” was organized
for the Library & Non-Teaching Staff of colleges under RTM Nagpur University on Tuesday 26 April. Mr
Prashant Joshi, Director, Mindbloom Technologies, Nagpur, was the resource person. Dr Prince Ajaykumar
Agashe, Librarian, brilliantly coordinated the Workshop, which was attended by 22 participants, including
library and non-teaching staff of our Institute.
Campus Interviews
Mr Mohan Cheriyan of CAFE/CARE Nagpur conducted campus interviews of BSW final year students for
summer assignments on 26 April. The following candidates were shortlisted for selection: Naresh G Tayade &
Priyanka A Sharma.
Vishwaarth & Placement Brochure Published
Vishwaarth-the College Magazine and The eleventh Placement Brochure of final year students of the
Institute were published in April 2011. The theme of this issue of Vishwaarth was water. The Brochure contains
profiles of MSW II and M.Phil (SW) students of the Institute. It also contains information on BSW III students.
The Brochure also includes an overview of the Institute and its activities.
Summer Examination Schedule
The Summer Examination Schedule of our students is as follows: CSW1: 26 March to 19 April; CSW2: 25 March to 18 April;
BSW1: 26 March to 19 April; BSW2: 29 March to 1 June; BSW3: 22 March to 19 April; MSW1: 2 May to 30 May; MSW2: 30
April to 28 May. Dates of Viva Voce of MSW2 and theory exams of M.Phil (SW) are yet to be announced.
Faculty Participation in Conferences etc.
Dr Sphurti Katarni presented in absentia a paper on “Positive Psychology in Family Mental Health” (Co
Author: Mrs Sheela Mahale) at the UGC Sponsored State-Level Seminar on “Positive Psychology Need of
the Hour”, by Dept of Psychology, Mahatma Jotiba Fule Mahavidyalaya, Amravati, on 25 February.
Dr Prajakta Tanksale and Ms Nandita Mane took part in the RTMNU ((Summer 2011) examination
work related to undergraduate classes. Dr John Menachery functioned as an examiner of the Jain Vishva
Bharati University, Ladnun, Rajasthan.
