the daughter of Thomas (b. NJ) and Mary Hall, b (b. ca 1760? Va.).

Clarissa‟s sister, Anne Hall, m. January 30, 1812, Lewis Co., Kentucky, Abraham Billyeu, b. c1778, VA.

Billyeu apparently d. before 1850.



Thomas Hall purchased from David and Mary Gooding, for the sum of $100.00, March 9, 1811, 63 acres

County of Lewis, on the waters of the Sycamore Creek and bounded by property owned by, J

John Stephensans and Price. This same tract of (63 acre plantation) land was lost by Thomas Hall, on the 2nd

1836 for failing to make good on a loan, to Paul Bilyeu, of Lewis Co., Kentucky. Nothing more is known of Tho

Hall except he is believed to have been living in Lewis co. up until 1836.



One Cornelius Hall was living in Lewis co., before Thomas, however nothing is known of his family. The Thom

may have migrated from the state of Virginia, to Lewis co., Kentucky., ca 1783. Oral history says they lived in V

records of Clarissa reveals father b. in New Jersey and Mother b. Virginia



Benammi Wilson and Clarissa Hall were m. February 20, 1811, by John Longley a preacher,

Kentucky. Shortly after their marriage Benammi signed as a volunteer in the Army during the War of 1812.

rank was that of a private however he was said to be a surgeons [helper?] however there is no mention of this

record. He served in Capt. Thomas Lewis company of Allen Trimbles regiment of mounted militia, at West

County, Ohio from August 30 1812, until discharged at West Union, Ohio, the last day of November 1812. H

with Capt. John Jones co. of the Ohio Militia from July 29 to Sept. 8, 1813. In ca 1813/4, he migrated to Ch

where he worked as a carpenter and helped build up the town. In 1830 they were in [Ripley] Brown co., Oh

were living in Morgan co., Indiana and by 1855 they had migrated to Portland, Whiteside co., Illinois.

After the civil war, ca 1868, Benammi and Clarissa lived in Pella, Iowa with their daughter Susannah Geo

living with her daughter Susannah in Pella 1871->1883). Benammi Wilson d., April 27, 1873, at an old so

Council Bluffs, Iowa. His burial place has not been located.

Clarissa's death date and final resting place has not been located.

moved to Chillicothe, Ross co., Ohio. She m. 1st. Levi Baldwin, December 1, 1828 at Chillicothe, Ohio. Th

migrated to Jefferson co., Indiana, and seven children were born to this union. Levi Baldwin d. in 1849 at Madi

co., Indiana and Jane m. 2nd., October 25, 1850 (Oct. 22, 1849), in Seymour, Indiana, George Stanfield, b.

North Carolina, October 18th 1805; the son of *Samuel and Grace (Stalker) Stanfield. George was m. 1st. 15

Jackson Township, Jackson County, Indiana, to Mary C. Shrewmaker – Issue Dinah, b. 1836 and Eliza Stanfield

Levi Baldwin was a brother to the father of Elias J.“Lucky” Baldwin, the millionare turfman of

California.

Jane served as a nurse in the Union army during the Civil war. In later years she wrote a exceptionally in

pertaining to her experiences during the great struggle. Her four brothers and one son served in the Union Arm

civil war.

In 1872 they migrated first to Topeka, Kansas and finally settled at a place called „Valencia‟, a rural villag

River, fourteen miles from Topeka, near Lyndon, where he retired. George Stanfield d., November 4, 188

Shawnee County, Kansas. Jane lived to be 101 years old; she d. February 13, 1913 in Topeka. Both are buri

in Topeka cemetery, however George‟s grave is not marked. Jane‟s grave has a bronze marker.

Obituary of Mrs. Susannah George

Mrs. Susannah George died at the home of her son, J. W. George at Sully Iowa, after an illness of only fiv

good old age of 95 years, 8 months, and 4 days. Death was due to old age and an abscess in her right side

fall of many years back. Susannah Wilson was born at Chillicothe, Ohio, February 14, 1814. She was married

George at Lynchburg, Ohio, December 7, 1834. To this union were born ten children, seven sons and three

have gone before before except four sons, W.B., J.W., A.T., and M.M., all were at the bedside of their mother

her death except W.B. Six sons served in the Civil War. Two having lost their lives while there. Riley was kille

of Aversborough, N.C. Jacob died of sickness at Little Rock, Arkansas. She left direct descendants to t

116. Besides four sons she left to mourn her loss 24 grand children, 71 great grand children, and 17 grea

children.

All was done that loving hands could do to make her last hours easy.

Summers. (Jane Summers served as a witness)

Alfred M. Wilson is on the list of civil war solders receiving a pension in Marion co., Iowa in 1882 and he is

town Pleasantview. A. M. Wilson, age 65, testified at Fountain W. George‟s trial in Des Moines [city], in 1883.

resident of Pella, Marion co., Iowa in 1885 when he filed his pension papers stating he was first enlisted in C

changed to Co. D of the 10th Illinois Calvery.

Sometime after 1890, Alfred and Julia removed to Yuba co., California and was living in Wheatland when h

75, on June 22, 1894 by suicide. Burial was by the GAR in the Marysville cemetery, Yuba co., California. Ass

Wilson d. some time after 1920 and before 1930 in California.

Alfred Wilson took a small rope and went into the water-closet and tied said rope to the rafters of said water-c

around his neck; then seemingly stepped off the seat of said water-closet and from all appearances strang

death. All of this occurred early about six o‟clock on June 22, 1894. At the time of this action he was consid

unbalanced He was not capable of carrying on a continues conversation and would make certain statements, th

deny the same, he always talked very despondently because he was sick and unable to work. {from Julia A. Wi

Cornelius Summers was a Presbyterian minister, settling on a farm 1 0 miles west of Danville, Indiana. A

(Whitsett) Summers, lived in Groveland, Indiana and in 1849 they moved to Lee Co., Iowa, then to Missouri.

Orain Summers was a descendent of Col. James H. Summers (IA and KS civil war vet; also Mexican War ve

a son of Rev. Cornelius Summers (1791-1842?) and Elizabeth Hadden Summers (1791-1869), both originally o

Co., KY (near Mt. Sterling, about 30 miles east of Lexington). They settled (with James and about 8 siblings) n

and New Winchester, IN (tiny towns about 30 miles due west of Indianapolis) in the 1830s. (Cornelius and

buried near New Winchester.) James later settled in Decatur, IA (just above MO state line). Had four wives

Settled in Beloit, KS after the Civil War and died there about 1904. He's in a rural cemetery a few mile

Descendants still live in Beloit (Noah, Carrico families). I am descended from one of James' elder brothers, Alfr

KY; d. about 1863; married Alby Jane ("Allie") Whitsett; lived variously in the 1840s and 1850s in extreme SE Io

and Keokuk -- and extreme NE Missouri (Alexandria, just across from Keokuk, per the 1860 census.) Alfred

about a dozen children, about half of whom stayed in Iowa.the rest scattered to MO, IL, IN, KS, and CA). I can

get past Cornelius. LDS has a nice study of the Montgomery Co., KY Haddens (including Elizabeth and her p

Bodford and "my" great great grandfather James Knox Polk Summers (1846-1917) were brothers. (See 18

Lee Co., IA: the family lived in Franklin, IA; also see 1860 census for Alexandria, MO -- forget the county ju

across from Keokuk, IA -- James and Bodford both appear with siblings and with parents Alfred and Alby Jane.

(b. Montgomery Co., KY, 1814 - d. 1863?) was the son of Rev. Cornelius Summers (1790-1843). He too

Montgomery Co. KY. The family migrated to Hendricks and Putnam Counties, IN in the 1830s. Alfred's wife (J

mother) was Alby Jane (aka Allie, aka Jane) Whitsett b 1817 in KY. Seems like lots of Whitsetts then also in M

KY. Don't have a further line on her other than to guess that she was descended from a Ralph Whitsett, becau

10-12 OTHER siblings of James and Bodford is a Ralph Whitsett Summers. James was in the Civil W

James/Bodford elder brothers Daniel T., Ralph, and Mason. (Lots of sisters, too...hard to trace.) Back to Cor

had a huge family. Married Elizabeth Hadden in KY in 1809. Other sons (besides Alfred): Daniel T., Benjamin F

in IN), and Wm. C. and James H. (both moved to KS). Also several daughters I've not had much luck in tracing

Hadden's father was Samuel.....she came from another huge family back in Montgomery Co., KY (near prese

Levee, I think....near Mount Sterling, which itself is about 30 miles east of Lexington.) Think I've also found a bro

a cousin) of Rev. Cornelius (hence uncle/2nd cousin, perhaps, of Alfred): Caleb Summers (1798-1880) of Odes

so miles east of Kansas City. (Caleb married another Whitsett-- !! -- Mary.) Also lots of Summers men with R

and Caleb in 1800-1820 Montgomery County: John Sr., John Jr., Archibald (who married another Hadden siste

is it Bluford?)....haven't figured out how (or if) they relate. Lots of what I've just touched on has come tumbling

since June, when I was in Salt Lake City researching and found it all. Glad to have connected....let's shar

Thanks so much for your update on Julia and Alfred Wilson.



I've been making some progress on their descendents, as you will see from the attached file.



I'm also making progress on the entire Alfred Summers/Allie Whitsett Summers family and their descend

interested. (I've managed to get at least a little something on ALL thirteen children -- ten of whom had children



I've uncovered a double tragedy for Julia. Not only did her husband commit suicide...........her younger brot

Summers (aka Bodford Bennett Summers or Boxford or Badford) also committed suicide in about 1904. (A dre

too.) Add to all of that that Julia was rendered nearly destitute after her husband's death (I got the sense

pension file that she was a worker in the old California fish canneries), and the many mouths to feed..........she

life indeed. Some of her children must have had difficult lives, too (e.g., son Charles' alcoholism).



But that ol' Summers longevity comes through into the Wilsons. You'll note that Bertha Nel made it past 100!

Williams, b. Kentucky. What become of Levi Williams is not known. She was m. 2nd. to Caleb Cope. “Cal

was a resident at Greenville, Plumas co., California. She m. 3rd., October 22, 1891, John Reynolds Drury,

Greenville, age 67, at Oroville, Butte co., California. She became the guardian of Walter H. Williams, her g

issue of William H. H. Wiliams. Elizabeth also raised from a young girl, Edith Bell Howell, (b. 1877) who was

family in Oakland and was the age of 18 years in September of, 1895.

Elizabeth Drury was living in 1895 at 528 18th St., Oakland, and others who signed some of her papers as w

Jennie M. Hall and Mrs. F. E. Greene both residence of Oakland, California in 1895, who state they have kn

Drury for the past thirteen years. She is listed in the 1895 Oakland City Directory as running a rooming house a

and she had moved to Elmhurst in 1898. (Elmhurst was a suberb which was incorporated into Oakland c1909).

Elizabeth Gullett born ca 1824 married Ebenezer F. Wilson on 13 Sept., 1845. On 10 Sept., 1845, Ebe

Benjamin Wilson, gave his son permission to marry Elizabeth. On 13 Sept, 1845, Elizabeth's brother, Joshua

was of age to marry without consent of her parents. In 1847 Ebenezer Wilson signed the court document

Gullett's (Elizabeth‟s father‟s) estate.

John Gullett was youngest son of Joshua Gullett Sr and Elizabeth Barnes and John was born ca 1796 Guilf

Carolina. He came to Washington co., Indiana in 1823. He married Cynthiana Housh 28 Aug.,1823 in Lawrenc

and she was the dau of Andrew Housh. She gave her age on marriage bond as 19 yrs old. It is believed that

in Kentucky and named after the Cynthiana, Ky where her father lived when she was born. Cynthiana wa

Joshua Gullett Jr's wife Barbara Housh. Barbara and Andrew were the children of Adam Housh.

John Gullett died 21 Sept. 1829 in Jackson co., Indiana and Andrew Housh was named Adminstrator of

Obituary of Sarah F. Wilson from the Shelbyville Democrat, July 14, 1904

The Death of Mrs. W. T. Wilson Occurred this Morning at Son‟s Residence.

Mrs. Sarah F. Wilson, wife of William T. Wilson, died at 1:30 a.m., July 9, 1904, at the home of her son, Lee

220 west Mechanic street, of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Wilson had been in declining health for a numbe

her death came after a week of great suffering. She was, however, resigned and patient to the end.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, September 22, 1827, her parents being William F.

Hosea, and from there she came with them to Jonesboro, Tennessee, in early youth and was reared in that p

young lady she moved with her parents to Washington county, Indiana, where she afterward married W. T. W

22, 1849.

Mrs. Wilson was a devout Christian woman. For more then fifty years she has been a faithful and conscientio

the Methodist Episcopal church, she having been connected with the West Street M. E. church of this city for

years.

Mrs. Wilson was of a retiring disposition, indulgent to her family, and never had an evil word to say of anyone

will have the sympathy of many friends in this hour of sadness. At the time of her death her eldest son, Lee

youngest daughter, Mrs. Lon {Rollo?] Halstead, of Indianapolis, were at her bedside.

She leaves surviving her, besides her husband, four sons and two daughters, also one brother and one siste

members of her family have been telegraphed notice of her death.

The funeral will be held at 2 o‟clock Monday afternoon. Interment in Forest Hill cemetery.



His obit. was found in the Shelbyville Democrat, Tuseday, August 4, 1908, and reads as follows

HE HAD FOLLOWED THE BUSINESS OF PENSION ATTORNEY IN THIS CITY FOR MANY YEARS

THE FORTY-NINERS IN THE CALIFORNIA GOLD RUSH.

William T. Wilson, pension attorney, died at the Shelbyville hospital at 7:30 o‟clock Monday evening of

seventy nine years. Mr. Wilson went to the hospital four weeks prior to his death, but no encouragement was

by his physicians. His immediate death was due to over-exertion last Friday, when he evaded the nur

up-town. He was able to walk about the hospital, but was not in condition to leave. He was assisted to his ro

and remained unconscious or irrational until his death.

Mr. Wilson was born in Maysville, Ky., in 1829. His experiences were varied and many go with him t

secret. He has no relatives residing in Shelbyville and other then generalities few facts are known concerning h

He was one of the gold seekers to California in 1849. He accumulated quite a fortune while there, but

prospecting and at the hands of robbers in New Mexico. He spent several years in western states and t

Wilson came to Shelbyville with his wife and family of six children about thirty years ago. For a time he had

Standard Oil interest here. Later he purchased the pension attorney rights and until his death conducted that b

Mr. Wilson, in his younger days, was a man of keen foresight and shrewdness. He had an active b

perception. For many years he had office rooms in the DePrez block on the public square. Three months

premonition death was near, and approaching William A. Neu, Sr., asked him if he would serve as administrato

his death. Mr. Neu consented and a few days later Mr. Wilson gave him a sealed instrument which it was later

Lee F. Wilson, an Oklahoma City attorney, formerly of Shelbyville, will be beneficiary to the extent of five

LIVED IN TOPEKA 55 YEARS - Alfred A. Schmidt, Pioneer Business Man, is Dead.

Alfred A. Schmidt, 66, old resident of Topeka, died at his home, 309 West Tenth avenue, early yesterday

was born at Manitowac, Wis., and came to Topeka in April, 1869. He opened a meat market, known as

Brothers market, at Second and Monroe streets in 1887 and continued in business until 1910. He was a mem

Lodge No. 51, A. F. & A. M., the Scottish Rite bodies, The Media Grotto, Knights Templar, Modern Woodmen

Baptist church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena Schmidt; a daughter Mrs. Lyle Bailey, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Elizabe

Topeka, and a brother, J. E. Schmidt, Kansas City, MO.

The funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Topeka Comm

Knights Templar, will have charge of the services. Orient Lodge No. 51 will have charge of the services a

Topeka cemetery.

Alfred, no doubt, came to Topeka, Kansas with his mother and stepfather in 1867. He was the first enginee

Fe system and ran engine No. 1 which was called Col. K. C. Holliday, in honor of the father of C. K. Hol

organized the system. Alfred ran this engine until the road was completed to Newton and later became master

William J. H. Baldwin, 84, a resident of Topeka for more that 60 years, died at the family home near Valencia,

Baldwin was familiarly known to Topekans as “Uncle Billy,” especially to those who patronized his shoe shop o

where he had followed his trade for more than 60 years. He was born in Madison, Ind., in 1848 and came

1867. For the first few years he had lived on the family farm near Valencia. He was a member of the I.O.O.F

and of the Shawnee encampment, No. 3.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia A. Baldwin and two sons, Harry Baldwin of the home address and W

born in the south, brought her slaves north with her prior to the civil war. She was a woman of splendid intellec

nature, and an active worker in the Baptist Church. William Price was one of the substantial citizens of his c

George L. Stanfield, 70, a former resident of Topeka, died early Sunday morning in Los Angeles, Calif., acco

received here by his son, Wilbur A. Stanfield, commissioner of water and light. Death resulted from a paralytic

Death came as a relief to F. E. Wilson about eight O'clock last Friday evening. He had been ill for severa

everything possible done to relieve him, but to no avail. - Mr. Wilson was one of the best known c

community. Popular with everyone he will be greatly missed.

- Following is a sketch of his life -

Frank E. Wilson was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, March 8, 1852 and died August 31, 1928, aged 76 ye

and 23 days. He was married in 1870 to Phebe DeWitte, who passed away in 1892, and later was joined in h

to Cynthia Wilson in 1895.

The children who are left mourn the death of their father by the first marriage are Mrs. Elizabeth E. Riggs,

Elliott E. Wilson, Sandwich, Illinois; Mrs. Millie Mobley, Chula Vista, Calif. The children of the 2nd., m

Mae Williams, Sharpsburg, Ia Mrs. Velma Siddens, Afton, Iowa.

Last Christmas Mr. Wilson began to slightly notice his trouble, a cancerous growth which which ended in de

all his difficulty he was patient, long suffering and kind. Though the great pain was almost beyond enduran

very best of care from his loving wife and those of the family who came home from time to time. Mr. Wilson w

lived his Savior and believed in Christian ways of life. Now, that his suffering is past, he has gone home to

Father where there is no more pain and no more sorrow - where all tears shall be wiped away.

Aside from his sons and daughters Mr. Wilson leaves his beloved wife who has been his companion all throu

years. A host of friends, also seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren are left to mourn his

brother, Caleb Wilson, of Hopeville, Ia., and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Huff, Des Moines, Ia Mrs. Cyntha Wils

and Mrs. Mary Turney, Grant City, Mo., are left to await their call to the great reunion.

Burial services were held at the Methodist church in Afton, Sunday, Sept. 2, in charge of the pastor, Rev. C. W

funeral sermon was delivered by Rev. H. H. Twyford of Creston. Interment is at White Oak cemetery, near Osk

Indianola, Iowa, April 14, 1938, aged 72 years, 7 months and 21 days. At the age of five she moved to Iowa

Union county where she spent her entire life except one and one-half years in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

She was married in 1895 to Frank E. Wilson who preceded her in death August 31, 1928.

The children who are left to mourn the death of their mother are: Mrs. Mae Williams, Indianola, Iowa; Mrs. V

Afton, Iowa; and three step-children, Elliott E. Wilson, Sandwich, Illinois; Mrs. Elizabeth Riggs, Burlington, Io

Millie Mobley, Santa Cruz, California. she is survived by six grandchildren; a great grandson; and

George Wilson of Eldora, Iowa; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends....Among those from a dista

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Afton M.E. church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Fran

wagon in which her parents traveled about the country in an effort to improve her father‟s health. The fa

Luther Sherman Huff, son of Reuben Wilson and Sarah (Lytle) Huff, was b. November 27, 1867, in Ringgold

and Martha moved with his parents to Wheeler co., P.O. Spaulding, Nebraska, in 1886, where they homested

five children were born, three of whom lived to adulthood. Their youngest child was born in Blockton, the pla

moved to in 1894. The family moved back to Iowa settling in Jefferson Twp., near Brockton, in Taylor Co

farmed for twenty-three years. Eight years were spent in the town of Norwalk, Iowa, having moved there in 19

to Des Moines in 1927.

Luther d. at his home in Des Moines, May 3, 1935, at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 24 days. Martha d.

in Des Moines at the age of 98 years, four months and eight years. Both are buried in the Blockton cemete

Iowa.

in Clarke co. (near the border of Union co.) m. April 4, 1883, Walter Fremont Wilson, b. May 18, 1863,

George and Elizabeth Wright Wilson. They purchased 80 acres of prairie land for $6.50 per acre and later an

parcel was added, which became their farm stead. In addition to farming Walter was a country blacksmith and

1914 Walter retired and moved into Arispie, Union co. Iowa. Walter carried on in his watch and clock repa

became well known for his work. Many from a distance sent pieces to him for repair. The ticking and striking

heard all at once from the various time pieces made their home a very interesting place to visit.

Walter d. February 5, 1936 and his funeral was right after one of the largest snow storms the area ever experi

Cynthia continued to live alone in their home in Arispe and loved to have friends and relatives come to visit. S

lady and remained active well into old age. When she was no longer able to take care of herself she went to

Nursing Home in Winterset, where she d. May 12, 1957 at the age of almost 96. Walter and Cynthia were

Tingley, Iowa cemetery.

Lee F. Wilson, attorney at law and prominent member of the Shelby County Bar, is a native of Jackson Cou

son of William T. and Sarah (Hosea) Wilson, the father born in Maysville, Kentucky, in 1829, and the mother

Tennessee about the year 1831. The subject is the oldest of a family of six children, and was born in the tow

February 8, 1850. At the early age of nine years he began learning the shoemaker's trade, from which time

continued the same, attending school at intervals during that period. In the latter year he entered the Hartsv

Hartsville, Indiana, where he pursued his literary studies for one year, providing himself with books and

necessary expenses in the meantime by working at his trade. In 1870, he began teaching in the public sc

connection with the duties of that calling took up the study of law, continuing both until 1879, at which time he a

former and entered upon the active practice of the legal profession. He was elected City Attorney of Nashville, B

in 1879, and one year later went to Danville, where for four years he was editor of "The Hendricks County

Democratic organ of Hendricks County. Abandoning the field of journalism in 1884, he went to Indianapolis, and

year came to Shelbyville, where he has since resided in the active practice of his profession, having at this time

business in the courts of Shelby and adjoining counties. Mr. Wilson's legal career presents a series of continu

and since locating in this county, has been an important factor in the Shelbyville Bar, standing deserved

profession. Mr. Wilson was married in 1883 to Miss Fannie Tucker, daughter of Judge N.W. Tucker, of Park

Virginia, by whom he is the father of one child, viz.: Harold T.

Mr. Wilson is a Methodist in his religious belief, belonging to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. I

William J. Schneider, 57, proprietor of the Dome billiard parlor at 814 Kansas, was stricken with a heart attack

Saturday, and died immediately. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Penwell's chapel. Burial in Mt. H

Mr. Schneider was born in Topeka had lived here all his life. He was associated for more than thirty years with

cigar manufacturer and since 1932 had operated The Dome. He was a member of Siloam lodge, of I. O. O. F

Christian church, the Commercial Travelers and has his home at 1253 Washburn. Surviving are his widow, Mrs.

E. L. Stanfield, 70, former constable and chairman of the fire district at Big Bear Lake, died yesterday mor

Bernardino hospital following a leanghthy illness.

Widely known as constable of San Bernardino mountain resort for 12 years and as chairman of the Big Bea

board of control for 13 years. In all he had resided at Big Bear for 25 years.

Born in Kansas he came to California 34 years ago, settling in San Bernardino county.

He is survived by his widow, Jessie A. Stanfield of Big Bear, three brothers, L. Emory Stanfield of West

Charles C. Stanfield of Alhambra and Wilbur A. Stanfield of Topeka, Kan; three sons; Lawrence, Charles and L

two daughters, Marie and Nellie and nine grandchildren.

to an engineering field working part time as a machinist apprentice. From there he went to Joliet, Illinois, a

under instruction. Upon passing marine engineers civil service examinations he went to New Port News to

test and then went to California where he made runs out of San Francisco for a year.

at the now defunct Highland Park College in Des Moines. She returned to Blockton to teach in country schools

months and then left for Washington D. C. to work on the 1910 census. She stayed there two years and th

Blockton to teach. World War I came and Washington lured her again. She worked for the War dept in 191

quit in disgust three months later because the government paid her without giving her much work to do. She t

as a secretary for the Red Cross.

She left Washington in 1920 and returned to Iowa where she taught for awhile then began working for the Ba

1922 she married Charles F. Johnson who was a railroad mail clerk.

Minnie lived in Norwalk, Iowa since returning there in 1922. In 1986 she went to live with her daughter in C

d. June 18, 1989 at the age of 98, in a hospital in San Jose, California.

She was survived by her children William and Caroline and a sister, Sylvia Robertson, of Seattle, Wa

grandchildren and one great grandchild.

years. He also owned a grocery store in Arispe, Iowa and watch and clock repair shops in Ade

Winterset. Pauline‟s husband, Joseph Davis, was associated with him in these shops.

Orva Wilson was living in Indianola, Iowa when he d. September 20, 1967; Mabelle Wilson, d. in the 1980‟s.
