Elementary Curriculum & Instruction supervisors, with the help of ALTs and teachers across the district,
have organized an Elementary Mini-Conference for the morning of Nov 5.
We want to recognize excellence in the classroom and also meet the many diverse needs
of teachers and schools. Sessions are offered to allow all of us to "walk our talk" of differentiation by allowing
teachers to sign up for the session that most meets their interest or learning needs.
If possible, carpooling is recommended.

• shared professional learning experiences.
A. Learn ways to integrate technology into standards-based lessons. Explore and review Tutorials and Resources at www.atomiclearning.com. Cobb's

Consider how you might adapt the use of the software for your classroom? What prior knowledge, experiences, or pre-teaching might be necessary for
your students to successfully use the software?
B. Review the upcoming Unit Outlines for Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Select a subject area, a topic, and select a lesson to
discuss among your team. Provide suggestions to create or improve the activities for differentiation so that the lessons are more appropriate for your
less able students, your on level students, your more able students while still meeting the expectation of the standard.
C. By now, Quarterly Training information, resources, and strategies have been redelivered. What evidence reflects that the practices have been
implemented? What student products have been generated? Have each team member bring their evidence to share and discuss successes and
challenges.
D. Explore Think Math! Compare lessons on the upcoming math unit and reference lessons in the Harcourt text. What advantages are there to using
one or the other as the basis of your lessons? Which one supports the expectations of the standards more effectively?
E. Take professional learning into your own hands--explore and learn what is available from PD 360, a research-based, online professional learning tool
that can be tailored to your specific needs. Their library includes educators such as Robert Marzano, Douglas Reeves, Rick Stiggins, and Virginia
Rojas and topics such as Assessment, Coaching and Mentoring, Differentiation, Instruction, and English Language Learners. A free 30-day trial will
allow you to view ALL of the video segments as well as utilize the Reflection Questions and Follow Up Questions. Go in and pull up a segment of your
interest, watch, and reflect using the guiding questions provided.
