ABOUT THE CEMENT BUSINESS GROUP
Century Textiles & Industries Ltd., (CTIL), a blue chip company, wholly owned and run by
B.K. Birla Group of Companies with its registered office at Mumbai, is a well known
commercial and Industrial conglomerate in India diversified in various activities such as
manufacturing of Cement, Pulp & Paper, Tyrecord, Rayon, Chemicals, Textiles etc.
The company has established four Cement Plants at different locations with a combined
installed capacity of 8.5 Million Tonnes Per Annum.
The oldest plant “Century Cement” established in the year 1974 is located at Baikunth in
Raipur District of Chhatisgarh State (Mumbai- Nagpur- Howrah main rail route of South-
East Central Railway) having a production capacity of 2.5 million tones per annum.
The other Cement Plants, one “Maihar Cement” established in the year 1980 is located at
Sarlanagar, at a distance of 8 KMs from Maihar on Maihar-Dhanwai Road in Satna District
of Madhya Pradesh, (Mumbai- Howrah main rail route of West Central Railway) and the
other “Maihar Cement Unit No.2” established adjacent to Maihar Cement Unit-1, in the
year 1995, having a combined production capacity of 4.00 million tones per annum.
Fourth Cement Plant “Manikgarh Cement” established in the year 1985 with a production
capacity of 2.00 million tones per annum is located at Gadchandur District, (Chandrapur)
in Maharashtra State (Delhi- Madras main rail route of South Central Railway).
All cement units have their own townships at the respective places with all civic facilities
such as – Banks, Post Offices, Hospitals, Clubs, Swimming Pools, Libraries, Cable TV,
CBSE/STATE BOARD affiliated Schools upto 12th standard, Telecommunication facilities etc.
Marketing of cement is spread over Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh,
West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Union Territories of Delhi,
Chandigarh etc.

I. ABOUT TRAINING AND EMOLUMENT PACKAGE
Selected candidates shall be undergoing one year training in the field of
Commercial Trainee at Accounts/Sales / Marketing/Stores Departments.
They will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs. 4500/- (Rupees Four Thousand
Five Hundred) only per month during the training period.
They will also be entitled for following social security benefits during training period:
(a) Co’s contribution to PF @ 12% of the salary.
(b) LIC’s Group Insurance for a sum insured of the value of Rs.1,00,000/-
(c) Group Accident Insurance Coverage
II REMUNERATION PACKAGE AFTER SUCCESSFUL TRAINING
After completion of one year satisfactory training period they will be absorbed as
Commercial Assistant with a starting pay of Rs. 7500/- in the Grade of Rs. 7500-
250-8500-275-10150-325-15025.
1. Monthly Payment
Transport Allowance
Incase of Scooter/M.cycle of not more than 5 years old :Rs.1600/- PM
OR OR
If not maintaining any vehicle :Rs. 625/-PM
Upkeep Allowance :Rs. 600/-PM
2. Annual Payment/Benefits
(a) Leave Travel Allowance – A credit of 40 days leave per annum.
(b) Medical Reimbursement – A credit of 45 days leave per annum.
(c) Retention Allowance - @ 250/- PM
3. Social Security Benefits
(a) Co’s contribution to PF @ 12% of the salary.
(b) LIC’s Group Insurance for a sum insured of the value of Rs. 1,00,000/-
(c) Group Accident Insurance Coverage
III. GRATUITY
They will be entitled for Gratuity in accordance with extant rules after absorption in
regular grade as per the following scale –
After 5 years of Service : 15 days for every completed year of service
After 10 years of service : 20 days for every completed year of service
After 15 years of service : 30 days for every completed year of service.
IV. ACCOMMODATION
During the training period at site, the candidate will be provided bachelor/
shared accommodation on nominal rent and subsidized electricity. After
training, candidates will be provided furnished accommodation on rent as
available to other staff members of equivalent rank.
V. PROSPECTS
These are basic positions in commercial side of Cement Business Group of the
Company providing regular opportunities for advancement to deserving
candidates.
VI. GENERAL
(a) Written Test & Interview: - Short-listed candidates will be required to appear
in a test and those who qualify in the test will appear in the interview.
Candidates will be reimbursed II Sleeper rail fare to & fro by shortest route.
(b) Offer of Appointment will be issued to the candidates who are finally
selected.
(c) Once the Offer Letter of Appointment is accepted and the candidate fails to
join on the scheduled date, he shall be liable to pay a LIQUIDATED
DAMAGE amounting to Rs.13500/- (Rupees Thirteen Thousand Five
Hundred Only).
(d) Other terms and conditions will be in accordance with the Standard Staff
Standing Orders of the Company.
(e) The appointment will be subject to being medically fit as certified by the
company’s Medical Officer.
