Sub : Gadgets for measurement of wear of Tongue rail and
stock rail.
In present era there is a requirement of running heavier load
at maximum speed over Indian Railways. T/outs plays an
important role in it. For meeting out such challenges it is important
on ensure health of over T/outs.
In 1996 a new format was suggested in IRPWM for
inspection of T/outs vide para 237(5) Annexure 2/6. The format
suggested for inspection of T/out is either not being followed in
fields or being followed partially. Main hurdle in following
prescribed format was non availability of tools/equipments for
measurements of wear of T/rail and stock rail. This item was also
raised in track discussion forum but the measures suggested was
not user friendly and there was a need to develop on equipment /
Gadget by which, we can measure wear if T/outs and stock rail
directly and it should be so user friendly that our trolley men can
use the same.
An attempt is made by undersigned to develop gadgets for
measurement of wear of T/rail and S/Rail. These gadgets are vary
user friendly and simple can be used by our trolley men also.
