wonder if any of us could have 'God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful
done as well. (And he had such an lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray

turn it off.'
'God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you
shouldn't go wasting his time by going over your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you
'Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are any in Chula Vista . At least there
aren't any who come to our church.
''Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water and performing miracles
and trying to teach the people who didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of him
preaching to them and they crucified him. But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his
father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K.'
'His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work on earth so he told him he
didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he
helps his dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God
to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother
God. Like a secretary, only more important.'
'You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it
worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.'
'You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you
want to make happy, it's God! Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going
to the beach. This is wrong; and besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway.'
'If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't
go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're
scared, in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real
deep water by big kids.
I certainly don't think
''But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I
figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases.

this more beautifully!
And...that's why I believe in God.'

Just for Fun
There was a Scottish painter named Smokey Macgregor who was very interested in
making a penny where he could, so he often thinned down his paint to make it go a
wee bit further.
As it happened, he got away with this for some time, but eventually the Baptist
Church decided to do a big restoration job on the outside of one of their biggest
Smokey put in a bid, and, because his price was so low, he got the job.
So he set about erecting the scaffolding and setting up the planks, and buying the paint
and, yes, I am sorry to say, thinning it down with turpentine.
Well, Smokey was up on the scaffolding, painting away, the job nearly completed, when
suddenly there was a horrendous clap of thunder, the sky opened, and the rain poured down
washing the thinned paint from all over the church and knocking Smokey clear off the scaffold
to land on the lawn among the gravestones, surrounded by puddles of the thinned and
Smokey was no fool. He knew this was a judgment from the Almighty,
so he got down on his knees and cried:
"Oh, God, Oh God, forgive me; what should I do?"
And from the thunder, a mighty voice spoke....
(you're going to love this)
"Repaint! Repaint! And thin no more!"
You can help in the following ways:
• The East Palmyra Christian School saves Campbell soup labels and General Mills box tops -
please put in the box in the Baraca Room.
• The flower list is on the bulletin board in the sanctuary. Please let Carol Fanelli know if you would
like to sign up to provide flowers for an open Sun. in memory of a loved one.
• Flip tops from beverage cans are saved to help with dialysis expenses, please put them in the box
in the Baraca Room.
Sears, An Exemplary Corporate Citizen ~ Found On Internet
I know I needed this reminder, since Sears isn't always my first choice. It's amazing when you think of how
long the war has lasted and Sears hasn't withdrawn from their commitment. Could we each buy at least one
thing at Sears this year?
How does Sears treat its employees who are called up for military duty? By law, they are required to hold
their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result
of being called up for active duty.
Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical
insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years.
I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. I suggest
we all shop at Sears at least once, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company
gets the positive reinforcement & feedback it well deserves.
Pass it on.
I decided to check this before I sent it forward. So I sent the following e-mail to the Sears Customer Service
I received this e-mail and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the internet may have just become one
very good source of advertisement for your company. I know I would go out of my way to buy products
Sears instead of another store for a like item, even if it's cheaper at that store.
This is their answer to my e-mail:
Thank you for contacting Sears. The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback.
Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make.
We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.
Sears Customer Care
Please pass this on to all your friends. Sears needs to be recognized for this outstanding contribution and we
need to show them as Americans, we do appreciate what they are doing for our military!!!
It's verified ! By Snopes.com at: http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/sears.asp
