a. Download JRE 5.0 from: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp b. Download Java3D 1.5.0 from: http://download.java.net/media/java3d/builds/release/1.5.0/java3d-1_5_0-windows-i586.exe c. Download Java3D examples from: http://download.java.net/media/java3d/examples/1.5.0/j3dexamples-1_5_0-src.zip d. Download Eclipse SDK 3.2.2 from: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.2.2200702121330/eclipse-SDK-3.2.2-win32.zip e. Install JRE5.0 by running jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586-p.exe, suppose the install dir is [C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_11] f. Install Java3D by running java3d-1_5_0-windows-i586.exe, suppose the install dir is [C:\Program Files\Java\Java3D] g. Install Eclipse SDK 3.2.2 by unzipping eclipse-SDK-3.2.2-win32.zip to [C:\Program Files\] h. Run eclipse by running eclipse.exe i. In eclipse, click File -> New -> Project..., select Java Project, input project name, e.g. j3dexamples, and click finish. j. Find the project path on file system, by default, it should be C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\workspace\j3d-examples k. Unzip j3d-examples-1_5_0-src.zip to a temporary dir, e.g. C:\temp l. Copy C:\temp\j3d-examples\src\classes\org to the project path C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\workspace\j3d-examples m. In eclipse, right-click the project j3d-examples and refresh, eclipse would build this project without any errors. n. In eclipse, right-click SphereMotion.java under package org.jdesktop.j3d.examples.sphere_motion, click Run As -> Java Application, a demo would start.
