4. Brief description of the project
To build an intelligent workbench as a software program to create a low cost
learning platform for Hindustani music.
To establish a digital database of different raga’s, taal from different gharana of
Hindustani classical music.
To reverse engineer of musical instruments specially ones which are a part of
Indian traditional instrumental music but on the verge of decay and obsolesce due
to non availability.
To build a tool to “mask” the singer’s voice
To generate a database of Indian classical music in the midi format

The software program as a learning tool of music.

8. Current status
Coding has been completed for synthesizing between different raaga’s and taal’s
Research is going on nature of different musical gharana in the country.
The pattern of different raaga’s are being established and mapping of these pattern
to coding work is underway.
In the process of establishing a collaboration with ITC Sangeet Natak Academy in
Calcutta to augment further research in the areas.
