Lightning POD allows:

• Publishers to print only what they need – No waste!

 Overstocks, Overruns, Pulping, potentially wasted raw materials and returns are

minimized or disappear





• Publishers to have assurance about the environmental soundness of

the materials their books are made of

 Paper/Forest certification schemes - certified mills, suppliers and materials





• Publishers a Distributed Print Option

 Using a globally distributed network, books are printed at the location nearest to the

order

• All paper is sourced from COC (Chain of Custody) suppliers and mills



• All papers are individually or dually:

 Green-e certified



• Some papers carry post consumer waste (PCW) content



• Some papers are manufactured using alternate eco-friendly power

Distributed Print





One file serves a globally distributed network



• Books are printed at the plant closest to the order

– LaVergne, TN, Allentown, PA , Milton Keynes, UK

– Pacific Rim expansion to be announced





• Eliminate costly inventory costs, transfers and freight



• Less transportation and conservation of fossil fuels
