your scores will definitely happen. These adjustments are historically based (past 1-5 years of data) and
only take into consideration the average of the cohort. Adjustments to an individual score is also dependent
on where the score is in the distribution, this is not taken into account.
Many courses have only had one year of WACE exams so the scaling given here is an educated prediction.
For some courses that had similar subjects running in the old TEE system this prediction will be based on
some historical data. For others it is an educated guess and the final scaling will depend on the cohort
across the state who take this course as this will effect the way the course is scaled.
The scaling column is attempting to show the difference between the raw scores sent in at the end of the
year by the school and the actual score you end up with (after TISC has moderated and standardized your
school marks, standardized your exam, combined the adjusted school and exam results and scaled this
against other subjects).
Though these score adjustments are based on historical Newman data, most schools will have similar
adjustments made to their end of year school score.
