A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Thomas
Dwayne Moss.
WHEREAS, Thomas Dwayne Moss was born October 16, 1948, to the late Thomas
and Marion Thompson Moss, and passed from this life March 7, 2007. A native of
Calvert City, Mr. Moss was a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina
School of Pharmacy, and received a M.A. in Public Administration from Murray State
University; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Dwayne Moss was a former vice president of Our Lady of
Mercy in Owensboro; was former Chief Operating Officer at Lourdes Hospital in
Paducah; and was C.E.O. at Stabler Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Alabama prior to
moving to Glasgow. He had served as C.E.O. at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in
Glasgow since 1998. While serving in that capacity, he led the hospital through a time of
growth and built bridges throughout the Commonwealth to advance the institution's
services, including STAT CARE Air Ambulance; a dedicated pediatrics unit; a sleep lab
center; a chest pain center; a wound therapy unit; a primary angioplasty program; a
telemedicine program; and the continuation of the University of Louisville Residency
Program; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Moss was president-elect for the Chamber of Commerce and
Glasgow Rotary and, at his passing, he was serving on the board of directors for the
YMCA and was active in the Kentucky Hospital Association, Telemedicine, Citizens for
a Healthier Kentucky, the Glasgow Golf and Country Club, the KCTCS Advisory Board,
and the Advisory Council of Western Kentucky University. In his private life, he enjoyed
hunting, blues music, golf, and was an avid UK basketball and football fan; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Dwayne Moss is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Jarvis
Moss; a son, Rodney Moss, and his wife, Katie, of Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter,
Alison Moss Green, and her husband, Justin, of Paducah; a beloved niece at home, Sarah
Jarvis; a granddaughter, Aniston Moss; and two sisters, Dilana Dunn, of Illinois, and

Teresa Groves, of Calvert City;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
1 Section 1. The Senate expresses its deep sense of loss upon the passing of Thomas
2 Dwayne Moss, and extends to his family, friends, and community its sincere condolences.
3 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and
4 honor of Thomas Dwayne Moss.
5 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution
6 to Mrs. Rebecca Jarvis Moss, 900 Country Club Estates, Glasgow, Kentucky 42141-
