Hanover College Dance Team Constitution
Art. 1 The full name of our organization is Hanover College Dance Team. There are no
regional, state, or national affiliations.
Art. 2 The primary purpose of this organization is to perform dance routines during half
time of Hanover athletics. Dance clinics and competitions may be possible if/at the
teams’ discretion.
Art. 3 Any Hanover College student maintaining a 2.0gpa and is accepted through
auditions is eligible for team membership. Auditions will be held in the spring/fall at the

Art. 4 There are to be appointed a Sr. Captain and a Jr. Captain.
Powers: The powers of the captains consist of conducting auditions and selecting
members, scheduling and residing over practices, and choosing uniforms. They also have
the ability to bench a team member or dismiss them from the squad.
Duties: The duties of the captains are to provide dance routines, be sure that the
team is ready for each performance, order uniforms, make plans and contact the proper
person for scheduling practice rooms and performances.
Selection/Qualifications: The Sr. captain will be the Jr. Captain from the previous
year. The Jr. Captain will be selected by the new senior captain. She must have been a
member of the dance team the previous year. If the Jr. decides not to accept the position
of Sr. captain, a Sr. captain will be selected along with the Jr. Captain (by the senior
captain from the previous year).
Art. 5 Meeting/practices will be scheduled for 1 to 2 hrs, 3 days a week during both
preseason, as well as basketball season. Practices will consist of the learning and
perfecting of routines, as well as technique. Special meetings may be arranged by either
the Sr. captain or the Jr. Captain.
Art. 6 There will be no dues required for this organization. Any money needed for
uniforms and equipment will be acquired by either fundraisers or through funds reserved
for student clubs or organizations.
Art. 7 Amendments must be brought before the team and receive a 75% vote.
