The planned Riverside Technology Park, a partnership between UC, government and private industry, will be a major R & D center aimed at assisting local entrepreneurs and moving UC discoveries from the lab to the marketplace.
UCR’s Eastside Community Collaborative combats the effects of poverty and violence through education, mentoring, arts, and community needs assessment. The Collaborative was formed in response to escalating violent crime rates in the eastside of Riverside. Former UCR Chancellor Raymond Orbach convened civic leaders to build solutions aimed at families and youth, in order to help heal a traumatized community. Today, the Collaborative includes after-school programs at several area sites.
